Had it not been for the fact I saw "Cock Scratchings" on a menu in Chinatown today which gave me a chuckle and retroactive giggles since, this news would have made me thoroughly miserable. As it is I'm still riding high on the euphoria of such a comical menu item.

I bear him no ill will. He could've walked out for nothing if he was just a mercenary. Always gave his all for the club. I can't blame him for having his head turned at the chance of winning trophies and playing in the best club competition in the World after putting up with years of mediocrity at Villa.

People are slagging him off for his statement when he signed. What was he supposed to say? I don't doubt for a second he had genuine affection for the club unlike rats like Downing.

I wish him well, except when he plays us.

How about he didn't have to go an be so effusive about how loyal he is? £8 million clause was clearly put in place so he could leave asap. He knew that was at least half of the going rate for an England midfielder. If he really had affection for the club or had any intention of living up to his statement he would have signed with a £15-20 million release clause. He is no different from Downing. The club are stupid too.

Perhaps he didn't want the price to be higher for fear of driving away suitors.

He said how loyal he was because somebody shoved a microphone in his face and he had to say something.

If he's a cock on the Downing scale, why didn't he just leave for free?

Seriously though.. how could bringing in Sinclair and Micah NOT be writing on the wall that City is a death trap. Fabian is good but no world beater, he'll never meet their cutthroat expectations.

Gareth Barry would be a better comparison. He'll be involved in the majority of their games barring injury or a massive loss of form.

It's small comfort but he could have gone for nothing.

He'll be nothing more than a squad player at Man City, when Man City sign 2-3 other top class midfielders. Hopefully, Gueye will be twice the player he is.

There's a lot of 'I didn't fancy her anyway' going on here. He's very good and I'd imagine will feature in around 30 of Man City's games next season which, when you consider it, isn't bad at all. Fucker.
He will not feature in 30 of Man City's games next season.
I know fcuk all but I promise he will play nothing like that number of games.

Massively disappointed in someone who I respected from the minute he joined us.
I won't boo him; it's not what I do - except Downing who I disliked when he was with us anyway - but I will feel a bit knowing that he praised The Villa to the hilt and then left as soon as a "better" offer came along.

Pathetic, I know, but I will probably sleep restlessly tonight.

Vichy cnut.

He'll have plenty of time to count his money sitting on the City bench. He's good but he's not great. It shouldn't be too difficult finding equal or better. Wait until City find out he plays like Ray Wilkins for the first 35-40 minutes. He's just a cheap option to fill up their quota and everybody knows it.

Oh lor, perhaps Wilkins was signed because they knew Delph was going!!

Navas, Silva, Fernando, Yaya, Fernandinho, Nasri..

I reckon he'll hardly feature. Those are some world class options.

It was a pre-planned and pre-recorded video, not a spur of the moment interview.

I'm almost certain he will. When you consider how many CL games they play, how much further they get in both domestic cups than us and the obvious league games, I'd say he will. He's a lot better than Fernando/Fernandinho/whatever his/their names are.

but the fact is he will be earning almost twice the money (per week) as he currently gets at Villa Park.

Now we know what Sherwood meant when he said we needed to bin some of the squad that were losers, he wants to replace Delph with a winner!!!
