Delph looked completely at ease and joking around in the video of the training.

probably because he knows his transfer will be sorted out in the next few weeks!

Have to say, I'm not even slightly worried that Delph might leave.

I'll be genuinely astonished if he does.

Why would you be astonished ? If City do come in for him, he'll be straight up there imo.

But if they did, you still believe he'll stay ?

I think he will stay. If he wanted away would he have trained yesterday? Or returned a week earlier than the other players that have been on international duty?

Yes. I trust him. What he said when he signed the contract goes above and beyond what he needed to say. That we're in a year when players are competing for places at the Euros also changes things slightly as well.

He'd be an idiot to leave and I don't think he's an idiot.

Delph will be a Villa player on the 1st of September 2015 (or whatever is the day after the window shuts). Mark my words.

No. I think as soon as man from City waves his little finger he will be straight out of the door and onboard  the next Megabus leaving for Manchester.

Delph always strikes me as football who has the intelligence to see from the likes of Scott Sinclair that moving to a club like City doesn't necessarily provide a boost to a player's career.

He's made it into the England starting XI as a Villa player, and he's smart enough to know it's not worth disrupting that in a tournament year.

Add to that his strong words about loyalty and the fact that he's rocked up at training a week early, and I just can't fathom why everyone seems so edgy about it.

The hand-wringing over this is beyond belief.

Low release clauses I'll give you Delphs if one exists lets not ignore that the press are reporting that Benteke is going to tell the club this week he wants to leave, dispite them reporting weeks ago that he'd already told the club that. But is £32.5 million for Benteke a low price? I think it's rather good tbh when you consider 3 years ago he was worth £7 million.

I know the feeling but I do think Delph is a good guy.

I know he said what he did when he signed his contract, and I'm sure he meant it at the time, but I wouldn't blame him if he left. He will treble his pay, get a juicy signing on fee and secure his family's future until the 22nd century.

Or stay for our relegation struggle and play for England for 3 games this time next year. He might not even do that if another unheard of Spurs player emerges next Spring.

Te-ra-a-bit Fabian.

Then again you haven't exactly got a good track record on the subject of Benteke have you ?
