If he joins CiŁy I'd say his euro spot is in the line.

I'm not sure about that. Milner got into every england squad whilst he was there.
True, well he'd probably risk England starter to sitting on the bench at the euros .

I don't know for a fact but I think that Milner played more games at Man City than people give him credit for. There were periods where he had decent runs. That's what I've always thought anyway.

89 starts and 58 sub appearances in the league. 36 and 18 in cups. According to Soccerbase anyway.

See for someone of Milners ability , a season and a half sat on the bench is such a waste .

If I was a player, i'd rather have those stats and a bunch of trophies that I played a decent part in helping win, than 150 starts and sod all to show for it. It would be different if he was never playing but he's played in at least two thirds of their league games every season he was there.

Put it like that I think you're right. I suppose that's what Delph will want to achieve ultimately.

I think Milner is a much better player than Delph, and they just let him go.

He was offered a decent contract to stay, but chose to leave. Which is a bit different to them letting him go.

Yeah. Plus one of Milner and delph is currently first choice for England. And it isn't Milner.

The treble with Villa and a World Cup winners medal for England would be my advice to him :) Dream big!

I really like Delph. But I really loved Milner.

I don't think many non Villa fans would understand how anyone could think this, but it wasn't losing Downing and Young that tore the heart out of our side, it was losing Milner.

Yes, Delph is a current first choice, but only in the sense that he's played in six games for England. I don't know to what degree that makes you a first choice.

Milner has played for England 54 times and is also in the current England set up.

They're both excellent players.

You're right, we never recovered from losing Milner, he was a power house for us and it annoys how the media see him as a utility worker type player, he is far better than that. Delph is our driving force for right now, on his day (and that's most days) he would be a massive loss for most teams.

When Milner went off in that late summer West Ham game I was gutted. He'd scored a beauty was MOTM and it was all over.

And he looked gutted when he'd scored, too, sad that he was offski.

I fucking love the bloke. I'd swap Benteke AND Delph to get Milner back, without pausing to think about it.

Instant heart transplant. We lost a lot of that from Petrov (after his first season of struggle), and more with Milner. An injection of heart into this side would make a huge difference.
