I hope he stays with us. We really desperately need him not to leave.

Let's say it's true, if Nursey hadn't revealed it would the clause still exist?

I'm sure Benteke will have a stupid low relegation release clause as well. It's just the mirror bending a story and making things as gospel once again.
Delph is one player I'm confident won't be going anywhere this summer. He's just moved house local to Villa too

Careful. You're getting dangerously close to Schrödinger's cat with that.

Bit concerning the story is spreading to other outlets - sky, metro etc.

Not to me because that's how it works. One of them runs a story, could be based on fact could be bollocks, the rest just repeat it.

Why's it concerning?

There's several hundred sports media outlets around Europe, with several feet of column inches to fill, and millions of internet clicks to generate to justify their advertising rates, whilst [(sqrt)fuckall] is happening.

A random journo throws and uncorroborated story out that, if true, is mildly interesting. As sure as night follows day, every other outlet starts running it, as if you can't be first with it, don't be last.

If there were 3 different outlets running 3 similar stories from different sources, then there's something to worry about.

Anything else is just the cannibalistic, plageristic tendencies of modern journalism.

But you said yesterday that he hadn't set the world alight and suggested he wouldn't be missed Sillyvilla.

What I said was I don't think he's irreplaceable.
