Collymore and Savage both said he deserves to be in the England squad. Considering the dearth of decent midfielders I don't see why not. Henderson has played well this season but what the fuck Cleverly does is beyond me.

Good to see Delph get some belated praise. When he gets the ball, and drives with it, he really is quite a good player.

Good that he is getting in the box a bit more.

Delph has excellent technique, now he's properly match fit it's like he's got the ball on a piece of string, never looks rushed for time or 'trapped', just backs his ability to find a gap and get away.  He should definitely be in the England squad.

If the likes of Tom Cleverley can get in the England squad, then there's no way Delph shouldn't be there.

Apart from the alround performance and the finish, it was great to see him starting to trust his right foot more.

If he can be even half decent with his right foot, it will take away the one obvious defensive move against him to force him onto his weaker foot. You can't just show him inside as it is.

Oh and superb attitude (and accent) in his interview.

Forget about England, that will only turn his head, he hasn't signed a new contract has he? He only has 12 months left in the summer.

Every time Fab scores, we win. I make it 5 goals for us, 5 wins. I said before the season started that he'd start scoring this season, delighted for the lad, and us.

like the manager, he'll be offered a new deal in the summer. If nothing else, we have proven since Lambert arrived that we look after our own.

I don't think it has anything to do with looking after our own, more like hoping he decides to stay, he will surely have plenty of suitors.

He should be on the plane. Hodgson doesn't like the Villa though and won't pick any of our lot.

That is something I hope the club has learned and is now prepared for.

I'm not in the slightest bit worried about Lambert being able to hold onto the players he wants.  If the manager has  communicated to Delph and the rest of the squad that Villa are going places once more and are building a squad to compete these players will stick around.  Off the field, working in tandem with Lambert's work, I hope PF and RL are working hard to sign up financial sponsorships and partnerships to grow alongside this present crop of players.

Correct. happily he will be out of a job after the summer so Delph will get his chance with a better England manager

Do you seriously have any evidence of that?

I always think Roy is comparativley open minded. Other than Delph who is being excluded who should be included from Villa? Lowton, Westwood, Bennett, Gabby?  Cleverley is bollocks but Barry would be in the squad ahead of Delph for me on this season.

Can't thinkof many other exclusions / inclusions I'd agree or disagree with overall.

Delph's a genius. Long may England, the little Tap-Up Society which doesn't even win anything to make up for this. Pick Cleverley and be damned.
