You put a couple of half decent midfielders next to Delph, you'd never hear anyone ask for Milner to come back.
Is international football really all it's cracked up to be? And surely it depends on the international team in question as to whether someone is international class?
Of course it's my opinion. That's why we are here.I can't think of 8/9 better English midfielders than him. He should make the squad at least. He's playing in a very weak midfield at the moment and still managing to win those battles, on his own a lot of the time.Scoring a wonder goal was just a small part of his performance tonight. He's played better and not scored.
For most of the last 12 months he's regularly been our MOTM, or close to it, so playing against all these top class midfielders who are way better than him doesn't seem to cause him too many problems. Especially when the rest of our midfield is a tad on the weak side.

Pirlo would look like a time waster if you shove him next to Sylla, KEA or Westwood. I don't see much of an issue with him being called up to the squad to play in a couple of pre-WC friendlies.
