What a lovely story, Fin Feds Dad! Delph's always struck me as a decent sort, and it's nice to hear confirmation of it.

Like everyone else, I've been really impressed with him since the turn of the year. If he can add a few more goals and assists to his obvious energy, drive and skill, we've got an absolute star on our hands.

I just hope he stays fit, and long may it continue.

I have just realised who Delph reminds me of-Alex Cropley. No-they do not look like each other, but it is the way he tackles, harries and passes the ball. He even has the odd lope in his stride that Cropley had-just before he tackles or passes. I mean this as a great compliment to him.
Hope he has a longer career with us and doesn't emulate Alex with a second bad injury.

He's already a very good player, he's been the best central midfielder on the pitch in our 3 league games so far, that's midfields that include the golden boys of English football.  If he can add goals and assists he'll become a truly excellent player.

I've always thought there was a lot of quality there and had been convinced for a few years that his biggest problems were fitness related, he just seemed half a yard off the pace, now he's had a good run of games and not had any meaningful knocks for a while he's got that match sharpness that was missing and looks like the player we signed.  Him and Westwood can be the backbone to our side for years if we can keep them happy and hungry.

Great to see him playing so well and being a regular. He can still be a bit rash with his tackling, like for his yellow card last night but he's been doing less of that recently and hopefully he can continue to improve there. With the consistency he's been showing he must be starting to come into the thoughts of Hodgson for the England squad.

He's in better form than most of the midfielders in the England squad (ditto Gabby with the strikers).  I have absolutely no idea how Woy can justify either of them not having been picked, Raheem Stirling ahead of Gabby has to be the most absurd decision I've ever seen from an England manager.

paul: as others have said, I really don't give a fuck if our players don't get picked for England ( or Belgium, or Bulgaria or Denmark) - I'd prefer it if they are fresh for us next up against the Geordies ( I think?) international football is pretty much dead to me now. Woy is doing us a favour by overlooking Delph and Gabby as far as I'm concerned.

As for Benteke, would he have preferred to have another season of scoring goals as the teams main striker, or sit on the bench for half the matches and hardly scoring? I think he'd be noticed more for scoring. In meaningful matches, it'll be interesting to see if Benteke plays ahead of Lukaku for Belgium.

I'm disagreeing with the person who says that he doesn't want our players to play international football. Because if that's what those players want to do and they think that they can't do it with us then they'll try and go to where they can.
