Think the Leeds fans sung it when Robinho was at Man City.

He dribbles like Jaizinho,
He shoots like Rivelinho,
He's better than Ronaldinho,
He's fabulous Fabian Delph.
Fabian Delph.
Fabian Delph.
Fabian Delph, Fabian Delph, Fabian Delph....

There we go

Scans better with Robinho.

Funny how many people here have always rated him.

About a year ago the consensus seemed to be that he was hopeless, or worse.

Hmmmm

Not funny at all.  Some have admitted on here having written him off, others, like me,  have said they always thought he had something.  It's not an unusual split of opinion.  Less impressively for me I also thought Craig Gardner and Curtis Davies had something, although the former hasn't had a bad career, and I've a feeling the latter will surprise a few now he's back in the PL.

I was Bannan's biggest cheerleader and thought Ireland was better than Milner. I also wrote Delph off, so I've had a few shockers over the last couple of years. Also I was dead against the appointment of Lambo, which I think is the wrongest call in the history of H&V.

I also fell foul of the Ireland myth (although he did win player of the season)

with Delph I never thought he would be this good, he really has become far better than I ever thought , but I never said stuff like he's not fit to wear the shirt etc
I just thought he would be yet another midfielder of potential who we had high hopes but ultimately would disappoint and become average,

we have had a few of those

In line with the Delph amnesty, I thought he'd never come good despite hoping for ages he would.  He is a really, really promising talent.  If he can stay injury free its going to be very interesting.

He's the most improved player in the squad, I just hope Clark and Baker can show a similar level of improvement. Maybe that's not so important now we have Okore though.

For the first time in his Villa career, he is getting a proper run of games and it has shown in his performance level. Really think he can get close to England recognition this season

Plus One...
Having played against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, I honestly (without my tinted specs on) thought he was the best midfielder on show in all 3 games...and that's in some good company.

He was kicked a lot today too. He did not deserve to be on the losing side in the last 2.

Quite agree although Sky managed to give that acolade to 'one shot' Sturridge. I know he took his chance well but how can a player be MOTM if he doesn't touch the ball for half a game!
