4-1.  Switched off at a set-piece, sounds familiar eh?

Just watching the UEFA youth league highlights on Eurosport. Such quality young players in that league.

If any televised event should be boycotted it is that one.

I read in the Evening Standard this evening that the Premier League are planning a B league to replace U21/reserve football, no doubt with Sky coverage and all the rest of the glitter that they can throw at it.

I honestly think I'd pack it in if that became reality.  It would completely undermine the "FL72" (or whatever Sky call it) as there would be more stars playing for Chelsea/City/Man U's B team than in the championship.  As much as I hate the system, loans would reduce so you'd end up with an even bigger stockpiling of players at the richest clubs.

Drunk rant over.

It's just an update on the Reserve League from what I've heard of it. There's not been any suggestion of them joining the football league.

The proposal is U23 with 3 players in the 18 'over age' - basically we could play our first team, it's also proposed for televised matches and a reasonably high profile, I agree Dante, I think it's a bad idea as it just encourages clubs like city and Chelsea to buy in more and more young players.

I did plan on watching Norwich Spurs but after todays Villa game I just cant bear to watch. Pisses me off seeing other supporters having something to cheer from a football match.

Quote
Middlesbrough U21 0-1 Villa U21 - GOAL - 31mins: Graham Burke has continued his red-hot form by giving Villa U21s the lead at the Riverside. The Dubliner timed his run superbly to convert Jordan Graham's cross from close range. It had been a quiet opening spell for both teams but Gordon Cowans' side have edged in front with the first real attack of the match.
