My dad mentioned yesterday that he had a sports shop at Great Barr.

It was at the Scott Arms down from the pub. Where the cafe now is and before that fruity fruits.

I've never heard this before...is he correct?

Also Chico Hamiltons clothes shop at the terminus shopping centre, Wylde Green. Just round the corner there was Johnny Dixons hardware shop on the Birmingham Road.  Dick Taylor the Villa manager until 1967 had a sports shop on Witton Road.

Met him along with my Mom (RIP) & sister many years ago at a Villa supporters event in a pub off Trinity Road. (Wish I could remember the name). He spent a while chatting to all 3 of us & even bought us a round of drinks, really lovely chap.

Does Jimmy Rimmer still live abroad. I have a picture of the team celebrating with the European cup and Jimmy's autograph is one of three I need on it then i'll have the whole squad.

He's living in Wales, presumably near Swansea.

I think he lives in Mumbles, a nice part of the world near Swansea. I think Michael Douglas and his Mrs have a place there. I believe he has or had interests in a golf centre around there.

I was contacted a few years ago by the Villa who thought that he was out in Western Canada for a while.

He was in the Lions Club before a game last season, didn't recognise him at first.  I always visualise him shaking his head coming off the pitch in Rotterdam.

And Stan Lynn had a newsagents on the Birchfield Road and Bruce Rioch had a shop on Hawthorn Road selling guess what?
