I can't see us conceding a goal this season.

I can't see us conceding a goal this season.

If I were a betting man i'd be very tempted to find the odds, and then have a punt, on us going all 38 games without a 0-0.

Well a clean sheet and I know per-season is all about fitness but the pace of the games has been very pedestrian and hasn't got us used to PL speed IMO.

Its not supposed to. League games are for that.

Re: The Albrighton comments.

These were the same type of comments being attributed to Delph before last season started. Haven't heard too many complaints about him since the 2nd half of last season.

Give the bloke a chance to get his fitness and form back. If Lambert didn't rate him, he'd surely be part of the 'bomb' squad by now.

So we go into the first PL game of the season completely off the pace whereas the opposition, who have probably been playing matches at a higher tempo, are straight into their stride?

I think that's a fair enough point Fred. Just have to expect the training has been sufficiently intense

The form is the crucial part.  Before his injury, he wasn't playing well at all.  He appeared to have lost the confidence to take on a full back and his delivery was awful.  I'd be happy for him to get a chance from the bench next season to see if he can have an impact.  If he can't, sell him on next summer.

I don't see how Arsenal playing Indonesia XI, Vietnam, Nagoya Grampus and Urawa Red Diamonds is much of an improvement on what we've done.

AVFC: Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Baker, El Ahmadi, Agbonlahor, Luna, Westwood, Benteke, Tonev, Weimann

With possibly Delph swapping with KEA, that might be our starting/first choice XI this season.

Not seen the game, but I'm guessing from that line up that we were set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation.  Still think we will start the season with a flat 3 in midfield of Sylla, Westwood and Delph.

Chelsea have played Singha All-Stars, Malaysia XI, Indonesia All-Stars & Inter Milan.

Liverpool: Preston North End, Indonesia XI, Melbourne Victory, Thailand, Olympiacos, Valerenga, Celtic.

The only teams that have ever been in their stride at the start would be those in competitive early games, such as intertoto games. They'd tail off at the end of the season, though. Don't panic.

Some of our corners today were appalling. Bring back the Scottish Iniesta.
