I thought Bacuna looked decent down the right. He was actually happy to put crosses in, which we've not done much of under Lambert.

All last nights goals. Listen to the bloke at the end." What a beauty, have that."

That's great, as is that bloke's header celebration.

The kid's header and celebration brought a big smile to the face of Stan who was sitting in front of him.

Enjoyed the match from beginning to end last night.  Great goals, good humour from the fans, Stan joining us to watch the game and two of the youngsters getting on the scoresheet.  It was great to see that Villa carried on playing well even after a number of substitutions.  Still a few wobbles from defence but  the clean sheet was great to see.  Only downside was it took me two hours to get from Bescot Stadium to Great Barr afterwards.

Travelodge or Premier Inn?

Gotta be Travelodge - there's no Lenny Henry on the bed!

Donacien didn't have a great deal to do last night, but did himself no harm at all. A couple of Benteke style challenges for the ball. He looks pretty quick too.

Reminds me of the time when my mate who was mascot for the Connacht rugby team caught a ball that went into touch live on tv against South Africa. linky

I thought last night was a total waste of time.

Walsall hardly touched the ball and provided no challenge what so ever.

We really didn't have to try.

It wasn't a waste of time. As with all pre-season games, it was 90 minutes match time.

I've seen us play a few games against ordinary Walsall team in the past. It was something like 6 matches before I saw us actually beat them.

We played well, had a run out and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game.
