I'm holding on to the observation that often when we've had good seasons, it's seemed to follow a poor pre-season (results wise).

Just got out of Luton.
To the early posts....No it didn't rain, yes it has already been nuked as far as I could see.
The only difference I could see in the ground from the 1970s was that they have bolted some seats to the terraces and the paint has had 40 years to peel off some more.
I had forgot what a strange ground it was, entering the away stand almost through the back yard of somebodys house. A real throw back to the good old days of having to dodge your head about to follow the game with so many roof supports blocking your view.
Also nice to see a good visible police presence to add to the feelings of nostalgia.
I would say there were about 1,000-1,200 Villa there (including Sid Cowans and Nigel Spink) and the fans remained in good voice despite the game being the pre season friendly equivalent of Doncaster in the League Cup.

Vlaar, Baker and Okore fighting it out for the starting spots.
Clark next in line with a new contract just signed so he isn't going anywhere soon.
I doubt it somehow if we will be signing a new CB.
Fingers crossed that Okore hits the ground running.

Luna-Sulu-Chekov-Lowton at the back?  Sounds good to me.

An enterprising idea, i'm sure we'll be able to klingon for a few 1-0 wins with them on board.

Yeah just looked it up. Couple of wins, couple of defeats and a draw against Braga who aint bad. Better opposition than this pre-season but less games. It seems we're playing a lot of matches actually. We only had 5 pre-season matches back then. According to Wiki anyway and I'm buggered if I can remember any more.

Most important news tonight is that we should have a couple of the crocks back for Friday.

Kiss My Teeth, which is apparently an insult. I prefer to just call someone a ******.
