now granted, Baker aside, I don't see any of that lot being part of the starting defence at any stage this season, but we simply have not improved the fundamentals.

So, now, including the pre-season friendlies so far - Bochum, Rodentburger and the other lot, Wycombe and Luton - the last time we kept a clean sheet was Dec 8th 2012, against Stoke.

That is a run of 32 games without a single clean sheet.

If that doesn't improve significantly this coming season, we are not going to be doing any better than last season.

he's thinking he just got a fat new contract and if he does the business a big bid will come in for him next summer and he'll be off to a another place.

I've been impressed with Delph and Sylla. Not so much anyone else.

Probably, "it's pre-season and I've just signed a new contract."

On the other hand, we do have 5 reserves and a bloke playing his first game of the pre-season for us. Still, it's a bit pants so far.

And we don't really look like scoring here! Some pretty terrible passing going on when we try to be penetrative. I thought that our kids might look quite tasty against this sort of opposition. Unless Gardner pops this free kick in I've been disappointed with all if them bar donacien.

I hate to say it but he is clearly and obviously miles above the quality of anyone else playing today.

We are bloody lucky he re-signed.

I'd really like to see some develop and improvement in our defending.
