Lolorama.

I think Jack realises that "haterz gonna hate" so has decided to go the whole hog in his transformation from Woodward to Partridge. More believable than White to Heisenberg.

He could do with giving his puny pecs a workout though, it must be said.

AVTV is also aimed toward kids as well as adults I suppose. It's a bit of harmless fun really although I do wonder if they'd had a couple of beers when they thought of it.

Kinda disconcerting watching him in ecstacy in bed, half-naked underneath his Villa duvet, excitedly shouting "A ripper! A dipper! The keeper done like a kipper - Matty Lowton!!!"

I dunno, sometimes I think commentators must get some sort of sexual frisson out of shit puns and phrases. The way they're shoe-horned into reports i.e. on Sky Sports News where the opening shot might be of something like a tractor on a pitch pre-season and the dickhead speaker spouting that the team in question are hoping that the harvest bears plenty of fruit for the season ahead or that they're hoping to "drive forward" this season.

Was there some edict long ago meaning this was the way to frame a report? Fair enough if it's funny. But when the comparisons are so laughably lame you wonder why they bother. I mean, Damon Green doesn't go in for that shite, does he?

New feature this week. An analysis of the opposition by Steve Froggatt. Surprisingly good.

Yeah, I don't often bother watching the pre-match shows any more (because they tend to be boring/terrible) but it was pretty good.

Although he said that there was no benefit to having wingers that play on the opposite side to their preferred foot - I'm no student of tactics, but I always thought the idea was that they could cut inside and shoot?

Also it was interesting what Froggatt said about how to play against Norwich - essentially that their strength is in their two holding midfielders, so if you want to beat them then you have to play with width.  Please start Albrighton Lambert!

Against decent defenders, they can only cut inside and shoot if they are also capable of going past on the outside and getting a cross in with their weaker foot. Otherwise, a decent full back will "show them" the flank  i.e. force them outside "all day long".

When he first started out in punditry, SF was not very good at all, but he is honed his craft. Fair play to him.

Yeah I think his point was when you have two wingers off their preferred foot then they both cut in losing you your width.

Anyway , yeah it was good. I look forward to the next one.

Watch all of Villa’s 2014 domestic pre-season friendlies LIVE on AVTV. Looks like they're making this a regular thing which is good.

It will be good, but that's only if it works. Last pre-season they monumentally screwed the pooch.

Then because of your indifference Des you are missing out on what is after all a freebie to season ticket holders. If you are paying a subscription then your are definitely daft.  I had similar problems a couple of year ago which were quickly and pleasantly solved by email to support. One problem was because the previous year's season ticket membership expired before they started the new season but I think that has been sorted - I might find out tomorrow night!

It doesn't seem to work. It asks for a promo code which I don't have. Why can't you just put in the Client Reference Number off your Season Ticket, that would be easier?

I've emailed them.
