Fluid 4-5-1 to 4-3-3 to remain the standard formation?

Guzan - Herd, Vlaar, Baker, Bennett - Sylla, Delph, Bacuna - Albrighton, Bowery, Tonev ?

Is that the full squad that's been taken? Bannan and Stephens can presumably be consigned to the scrap-heap alongside the senior money-suckers and Little Ears then.

When you look at both teams I'd hazard a guess together they cost less than £30mil

While we're waiting for kick off, here's a list of 100 things 'we' hate about football.

According to the official commentary wotsit, Carruthers is on the bench.  Presumably with a few more yoof players

"@MatKendrick: Of course the team line-ups show that Bent, Ireland, Bannan, Hutton, Given, Delfouneso (and that Benteke bloke) are not here #avfc"

Those line-ups don't look that bad, it does highlight the obvious needs that we have though.

Is Siegrist with the group? Wondered whether he'll also get some game time in the tour to see how he does. It is interesting to see that Steers being worked in from the off. It would seem that Lambo may be ready to have him as number 2.

Yep, it was discussed a while back too that Bannan and Fonz are both raking in at least a million a year. It's definitely time for them to move on for the next contingent of youngsters.
