Post all your favourite memories and thoughts about Luton here.

I remember going to Luton once. It was shit and Villa lost. Great days.

Don't get me started, don't forget that your memories are from years ago, I've had the dubious "pleasure" of going their twice in the last three years. Yes it is still shit, yes you still have to enter the away pit via someones front door, yes they still charge a bloody fortune, and yes their fans are a bunch of ******. Bricked our supporters coach because we dared to sneak a late equaliser.

The only reason I've ever been to Luton, apart from using the airport is to do business at the Vauxhall plant, mostly during the '80's.

I can honestly say that the management that I dealt with in that plant were far and away the most corrupt bunch of arrogant self serving ignorant shysters I have ever had the misfortune to deal with, and during that period, that was quite an achievement.

Don't ever remember going into the town, so can't comment.

I went once. back in the 70s. Villa lost, and one of their fans nicked my Villa bobble hat from my head!

I've never been, but I did enjoy reading (and have a signed copy of) Sarfraz Manzoor's Greetings From Bury Park.

That's the exact totality of my experience as well.

Was the defeat you attended Bosnich's debut? I remember him being at fault for both goals in a two-nil defeat. Luton were relegated a week later anyhow as Coventry performed one of their, then-traditional, miraculous escapes.

Yes.   I remember leaving right on the final whistle and then me driving like a maniac up the M1.  We were home before we would have been from Villa Park - which my mate still reminds me to this day was awkward explaining to his Mom.

For some reason, every time I hear The Style Council's 'Speak Like A Child', it reminds me of the one and only time I stepped into the wretched place. 1983, Kenilworth Road and Villa lost to a late goal. Got back to our car and the old man had a parking ticket. In summary, shit.

Was there last week for a flight to Dublin. It was delayed by 3 hours. I momentarily thought of killing time by going into the town centre for a mooch before quickly realising how silly an idea it was.

I was at that game, we played like we were on our holidays. My first Villa game was at Luton in 84, we lost 1-0. Only saw us win there once in 89 when Mountfield scored.

I use to go to the same school as him, though a year after he left, i know one of his mates from Luton quite well. I'll have too get a copy of the book.

Lived there for 4 years, the one place you could go each weekend and see the locals fighting, they loved it.

Only been there once, for the 2-1 defeat to a late goal in 1983 after Gary Shaw had scored a beauty. The away end was open in those days and their fans were throwing coins and stones at us at the end of the game ( after a last minute defeat)

A mate of mine lived there for 4 years and it is a rough, feisty town with few redeeming features. I once got a taxi from the station with my girlfriend and the taxi was stoned and the driver racially abused by a group as we were paying. I was heading off to have a word with the teenage twats and the driver told me it was not worth it and drove off.
