The run in looks a piece a piss - a late charge for Europe I reckon !!

Correct me if I'm wrong but the last time we played Arsenal away first game of the season I think Olof Mellberg scored the first competitive goal at the Emirates and we ended up drawing. Good omen?

Just popped on to get a quick look at the fixtures- tough start - 3 week break after the Liverpool game which is not ideal - busy day so enjoy discussing - Chelsea postponed already which may not be a bad thing.

Could have been worse; we've got some hard ones out of the way early and a coupe of potential strugglers mixed in with them with none of the new clubs or managers when they're still excited. I can't see why people are so upset - we've got the same 19 opponents home and away as everyone else.

My two week holiday in August means I miss 2 of the London away fixtures which, when you live in Sussex, is a pain.

Also, the teams at the beginning won't have a clue what our players are like. There'll be an upset in there.

It's a good job we're getting players in early because we'll need players to be settled and up for it right from the off. It'll be nice to live up to our club motto for once in a while.

Thing is after the season we've just had it would have been ideal to get someone at home, preferably not one of the top 4, so we can get the win as soon as possible.

We still can of course, but it's not ideal.

We don't want to lose the first two and be worried about another relegation battle.

The first few fixtures look better with the Chelsea game taken out.

Has any kind person listed the dates of League Cup and FA Cup ties yet? Also, Europa League so that we will know when our matches will be moved to Sundays.

I think that's a very bad start to the season. Potentially two defeats out of our first three games. Would've much preferred to get a couple of wins and then play the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.

On the other hand, get a good couple of results out of it and it sets the team up with a bit of confidence.
