Another thing was that a lot of us had tickets for those empty seats but went and stood behind the goal instead.  If you look closely you will see that behind the goal in the upper tier it was truly packed.

Dave, that is exactly what we did too. The only time in my life I have paid for a seat and sneaked into a cheaper section.

IIRC you had to travel by train to have a standing ticket and we went over on the coaches, hence seats in the upper tier. Best decision of my life to move!

Great picture from Mortimer. Not quite the view I had, as I was higher up, but great to see nontheless.

My abidng memory is the Bayern fans singing 'Argentina' in relation to the then Falklands conflict. Also having won, being ushered onto the coach very quickly and not really having the chance to celebrate until we got on the ferry.

Happy days

Anyone got any good pics of the team with the European Cup? Sort of like the ones above but in colour and better quality?

A couple of great shots of Tony Morley. Strolling around casually before the game with his hands in his pockets and later giving someone in the crowd the the thumbs up whilst lining up.

I think over the years I have heard 10,000 to 12,000 but I may be wrong.
