I'd like to see Gary Gardner get 20/30 mins in this match

Cup did for them IMO. They say the table doesn't lie but if they'd been totally concentrated on the league then i think they would have stayed up. Forget us, I'd say they were better than Sunderland and stoke at least. Plus the 5 extra games they had didn't help.
Exactly why they should go back to staging the FA Cup final after the league campaign is over. Wigan were effectively punished for their success which is wrong.

Wigan's dodgy divot ridden rugby pitch is the last place I'd want to give Gary Garner a run out. Darren Bent has barely strung half a dozen games together without injury since it knobbled him.

Good shout.

If you follow him on twitter, you'll see he's absolutely over the moon to even be back training again.

I think it is something to do with the Champions League final being at Wembley this year.

It was the same last year. I think it has been that way since the Champions League final started being held on Saturday.

Some bloke from the FA on Talk Sport has said it will be the last game next season .........

UEFA state they want 2 weeks of no matches on the final pitch before the match is played.

I am genuinely sorry to see Wigan go down as I have a lot of respect for Roberto Martinez and the style in which his team plays.
For the same reason I was delighted for them when they won the cup and hope the Villa players give them a guard of honour.

But we've got to have some fun with:  "They won the cup, they're going down..... Wigan won the cup but they're going back down, going back down, going back down."

Them 2 us 4
Can't wait to see the lads play with no pressure, think it'll be a really good game. Gabby to take the beast's place or maybe Lambo will give Bowery the chance to get his first premier league goal, either way a stress free weekend for once, thank fu*k!!

UTV!!

Pressure's off: 2-1 to us.

Looking forward to this. Just a pity - for me - that over the last two seasons all the Lancashire town clubs have been relegated. It's great when I can go and see the Villa and be home in an hour, and - unlike going to one of the Manchester clubs - have a chance of a win.

That's what I was lead to believe, but there are two play off finals this weekend.

I'd be reminding the Wigan fans that were at VP earlier this season of the song "Bobby Martinez, you made the right choice".  Maybe he did if it was all about an FA Cup win but I've got a feeling it was about which team was going to be relegated.
