My dad - Peter Jackson. 13/12/1935 - 14/5/2013
« on: May 14, 2013, 10:27:56 PM »
My dad passed away earlier today after a short illness.  He was a season ticket holder for years and he really enjoyed his football.  He hadn't missed a game for ages until around January time when walking to the ground just got too much for him.  He is up there now with my uncle Tom, another season ticket holder. Going to the games isn't going to be the same anymore.

Thanks Dad for bringing me up a Villa fan. God bless you.  I will miss our slating of referees and linesmen or whatever they are called now.

Up the Villa

Kevin, you have inherited the most wonderful thing from your dad. The sadness will pass in time, but the Villa will always be there. And while the villa are there, your old man will still be with you.

My thoughts are with you and your family Kevin.

Kevin, you have inherited the most wonderful thing from your dad. The sadness will pass in time, but the Villa will always be there. And while the villa are there, your old man will still be with you.

Underneath all of the ephemera, match day at Villa Park does feel like a ceremony, and one that my forebears have participated in before me.

God bless you, Kevin.
I lost my Dad a few years ago and I miss him very much still. I know it hurts.
I keep his prayer card with a photo of him included and talk to him daily. It helps.

Thank you all for your kind and thoughtful words.  One of the last things he said to me yesterday morning before he passed away was that he wanted to go and be with his wife again.  That kept him strong and calm in his last hours and I know that he is up their now probably being nagged at by mom for not doing what the doctors wanted him to do.  He's also up their with my Villa supporting uncle who passed away a few years ago too so he can have a good natter about the football with him.

One of the strangest seasons was a few years ago when my mom decided to get a season ticket to see what it was like.  She wasn't that keen a supporter but she enjoyed it! It only lasted a season though!

So, to any of you who sit near block M1 of the Witton, row P, seat 83, thanks to you for keeping us company and chatting to us before, during and after the games.

Thanks again for your kind words

Thanks for everything dad

Up the Villa
