i can't keep reading up on the game and watching the goals, I love Benteke's second as he out jumps Agent Carlos, wonderful stuff.

A goal from a corner kick, onto head, into net. Haven't seen us do one of those for a while.

That was a truly magnificent towering header and if Big Tone was watching that up north he must have thought 'just like I used to do'

The height he got from a standing jump was really impressive too.

The winner against Reading at home a couple of months back was a near identical  effort between Westwood and Benteke.

P2 representing yo. Oh what a night. When Villa Park is rocking there is nothing like it except perhaps a Slayer gig.

Still work to do, not just now but over the coming years but it will be done.

Not wanting to get too ahead ourselves but....

Same team and attitude against Norwich on Saturday and we'll give them a spanking as well. Norwich are average to poor and will not be looking forward to facing a team with such belief and confidence especially with their run of results.

and yes, finally after 3 years we get a performance to remind us why we love the Villa!!

(or was it just some american consipracy to sell more season tickets next year hmmmmm....?)

I thought I'd read all this thread and I don't recall Davey B's post.  What page is it on? I'd like to see his comments as he always has a balanced view.  A decent lad is Davey and a lot of me says he didn't deserve that but these things happen and we needed that performance for all kinds of reasons.

Bottom of page 29 onwards (depending on your forum settings) of the 'Plot and Escape' thread.

I found it but, thank you anyway PWS.  Davey didn't disappoint, objective and clear as always.  As someone else has posted Davey is a credit to himself and his club and long may he post on here.

I think I'm in love with our second goal. Everything about it makes me want to marry it, buy two one-way tickets to the Maldives and spend eternity making sweet, sweet love to it.

The run from Benteke, gathering defenders as if he was a magnet and they were nothing more than steel tacks, moving them all to the back post.

Lowton. The spirit of Cowans inhabited that boy at times last night, because the ball in behind was lifted directly from the great man's repertoire.

And Andi Weimann. Explodes into the space, a phenomenal first touch with the outside of his right boot, and in one movement opens his body and delivers the perfect finish.

I do hope I don't become blase about such goals when we start banging them in on a weekly basis, I'd hate to cheat on this one!

Like it!

About lunch time today I was wondering why my back was aching.  Then I remembered that after every goal in the second half the lad next to me, who I'd never met before and was about 6 foot 5, kept bouncing me up and down whilst hugging me. I'm 48 ffs!

Wasn't their goalie fucking awful, pretty highly rated as well. Carlos wasn't much better.
