I'm confused now - do we scream and roar them on with the possibility of unnerving them or play it cool and clap politely in the hope they don't take fright like Bambi?
Yes we take the roof off, nothing less.

I have a very busy day ahead which will help to take my mind off things until 5 pm - a huge night and very important we get the result.

I can strongly recommend a weekend away as preparation for a game like this. Outside of Saturday afternoons scores I haven't given it a great deal of thought.

Checking out in a minute, pit stop at Thomasland at Drayton Manor and in The Bartons for four as I am off tomorrow as well. Marvellous.

Papermache Ron in today's Torygraph states that it's a must-win ... perceptively.
My California-based brother is over for his first live game in several years (well, he's over to see my sick mother but couldn't resist an opportunity for self-flagellation and torture at B6 tonight).
Our future is in our hands this evening (ooh, err Missus).

So, that'll be a 0-0 then.

Alhough not the absolute end of the world, a draw would be pretty horrifying for the neutralising effect it would have. It'd effectively roll over the sense of utter horror to next weekend.

I'm taking what's becoming a yearly trip to VP to hook up with a mate. Last year's happened to also be the Sunderland match, at which the only bit of spice was MoN's return; when planning this season's trip I expected something similar, a fairly meaningless end of season affair. So in a way I'm pleased it will be anything but that, the atmosphere has to be cracking. As for the score, it won't be a repeat of last year's 0-0.Let's go for Villa to storm to 2-0 in the 1st 15 minutes, miss a hatful to make it safe by half-time, get increasingly nervous, concede in the 80th minute, but hang on for 2-1. DiCanio to be sent to the stands.

Well, the tortoise has poked its head out a couple of times already this morning.

...can only see it getting worse closer to kick off.

The only time I usually feel like this is when we play Blues. It's a hard feeling to describe, but it's a mixture of excitement, dread and feeling slightly woozy.

Perhaps I should man up, grow a pair, etc.

This season has been slow like torture - probably worse than the last two. I don't know what happened in August 2010, but the shockwaves are still reverberating now nearly 3 years on. I hope we win tonight but I think it'll be 1-1. Our defence is our achilles heel and will still haunt us - shockingly bad decision from the board/management not to address this area last January. Still think Lerner's heart isn't really in it anymore - I wonder if he'll attend tonight? Not sure when his last appearance at Villa Park was?

I'm looking forward to it. We'll batter them 2-1.
