What did he have to say? Does he fancy a game?

Loves the Villa.
Fell out with Big Ron.
Sold when Little was about to sign Chris Coleman?!?
Thinks while we have potential there are a lot of poor footballers at Villa Park at the moment.

IIRC we signed Southgate to play MF and Coleman was expected to follow quickly to play in defence. That transfer never happened (can't remember why now) and Southgate was moved to defence and the rest is history.

Did he say who the poor footballers were?

Paul McGrath said he was the best centre half he had played with

Inspired the classic "Shaun Teale - Man of Steel" H&V cartoon strip, too. Can't be bad.

I think the McGrath and Teale partnership was right up there with McNaught and Evans. Because everyone acknowledged McGrath's quality, the part Teale played was often understated.

Fully agree.

I caught a bit of this yesterday and he said he did a lot of McGrath's running for him, but to me that was selling himself short.  Good physcial centre half of the exact type we could do with right now.

Was really surprised that BFR brought him, no one had heard of him. What a signing he turned out to be for us though.

Would love another like him now at the back.
