Just checking the table, we no longer have the worst GD.

Reading -27
Villa -25
QPR -23

Just need QPR to stick 4 past Wigan for safety first measures too!

Am I being a tad greedy?

fantastic result, could be the result of the season for us! We really need to consolidate this now with a win over Fulham!  They played with so much confidence , but we are still open to a mistake based on inexperience. But overall great result!
We should have won that by 5 or 6 with all the chances we had!

I think people are underestimating quite how good Westwood was (at least in that first half). He was absolutely fantastic. He ran the game. He was playing in division 3 last year for God's sake. Very promising player indeed and an excellent signing.

brilliant point, considering his contemporary Nick Powell, is being eased in at snails pace at Old Trafford.

Well, I was out and so relied  on the R5L commentary and  - TBF - Danny Mills was very complimentary about us.

Which is nice.

Stoke have the worst form in 2013 in the P-ship which is why I thought we were in with a shout; thank God we pulled it off.

Onwards and upwards.

A moment of pure inspiration from Lowton. Fair play to the lad for having the stones to try it. Was it the same end Crouchsaurus got his worldy against Hart last season?

Anything other than a Villa win would have been a victory only for the forces of evil which blow down onto the M6.
Let's make this precious. I think we probably will and stay up now.

Garth Crooks I love you...just said how fantastic the Villa fans were today, all 5000 of them, and how Chelsea fans could take a leaf out of their book when it comes to sticking with your team and not moaning.

Keep rewinding to watch Lowton's goal and the subsequent celebrations in front of the stand. Don't think I'll tire anytime soon.

Is it fair to say that Lowton goal could be the difference between survival and relegation? Don't think we would've got over throwing this one away. And I love Benteke!!! Never in doubt once he was clean through.

Ratings:
Guzan - Commanded area well, couldn't have done much for goal...7
Lowton - Thank fuck!!!!!!!!!!!...9
Vlaar and Baker - Didn't do much wrong until that shocking 5 minutes around when they scored when the whole team went to shit...7 for both
Bennett - Hardly noticed him, which is good. Did his job efficiently. Fair play to him...7
Westwood - Did his job for most of the game. Gave away a couple of stupid balls later...7
Delph - Didn't get booked. Enough said...7
Bowery - Can't fault him really. Looked a little leggy late on, but fair play to him. Good feet too...7
Weimann - not his best ever game IMO. Could have done better with chance...6
Gabby - Brilliant first half. Don't really get why he was taken off as he was the best of the attackers...8
Benteke - They doubled up on him all game. He still scored. Job done...7

MoTM - Lowton just for that strike alone.

May I add that Stoke were absolutely abysmal until Adam came on. Completely devoid of any quality in midfield and attack. I thought MON wasted money but Pulis has taken it to a different level. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go down although they might be able to draw their way to safety.

Can't disagree with much of that - Would love to see Adam at Villa Park next year he's just what we need in the middle sly dirty and capable of controlling the play.

Can't agree about Adam at B6. He can't get in the Stoke starting line up and he's likely to be an unstablising influence in the dressing room

Our away support has to be one of the best in the country, not just in England. I love away days, always a laugh, even if it does take the form of gallows humour sometimes.

Only when it became evident we were the team playing all the football did he start being complimentary, I thought he was rooting for Stoke the first ten minutes. Having said that, I do think he is an excellent co-commentator on BBC R5 as is Martin Keown

Just watched Lowton's goal again - he must have hit that from about 30 yards out
