Fair play to Bowery, hasn't done too much wrong. But think Zog should come on second half. Just to put these to the sword.

Lambert needs to be pro-active here at half time. Get Zoggy on for Bowery and fucking go at them. The counter will be vital. Have an extra mid ready for Andi on 60, and tell Gabby from 70 onwards to play on the touchline, and fucking burn them. Their backline are slower than custard pants in treacle.

We should have made more of the chances we had we never play well for two halves.

We need to get some width on the right, too much down the left, Gabby, Benteke, Wiemann playing too close to each other. Bring Charlie on and open them up with space to run into.

Well done the defence, they've done everything required so far.

Why the bloody hell do we make it so hard for ourselves. Should be 3 up, easily and this game should be out of site.

Bowery off, N'Zog on. He's working hard the lad but he looks like what he is. A striker who's come from Chesterfield, who wasn't even a key member of their side, and has been thrown into the Premiership...out of position. I expect no more.

Zoggy could have a field day here.

Next goal is absolutely essential. Considering we're a one half side, we have to kill Stoke off in the first 10-15 minutes. If they score first, they'll probably go on to win. In any case a point isn't enough for us. We need all 3.

Good stuff, but I am worrying myself with the thought that my new favourite bet (winning at HT, losing at full time, pays 25/1) is still alive and kicking, yet again.

Please Villa. No defending deep. No hoofball. No glaring individual errors. Just come out and approach the second half as you did the first.

As long as it isn't the N'Zogbia who came on against Liverpool.
