Did I hear right that Chelsea have flown a kid with first team experience over just for the final?

Used to be called a ringer in my day.
Yes Nathan Ake , Dutch born, made his first team debut  in December and played v Boro in the Cup match from the start  in 5th? round.

I was gobsmacked with the quality in the first five or so minutes. It's dropped off a fair bit since then.

The pitch clearly isn't helping.

Not sure anyone looks first team ready so far. Carruthers looks skilful but has made the wrong choice quite often. Front two look dangerous. Not really sure what type of player grealish is. Neat on the ball but doesn't look to go past his man much for a winger.

They look to have a bit more quality and incision on the break. But we've looked dangerous at times. Donacien looks good and strong

Last few minutes reminds me of our first-team defending.

To be fair Chelsea do appear to be the better team. Fast and more precise.

Yes they have that speed you associate with better players. We don't look as good technically. But then I don't imagine too many of their players are from west London. We need carruthers to start getting a grip on the game

Is it me or Chelsea kids are just a touch bigger than ours?

Our 'keeper has kept us in the game so far and the midfield and defence are both giving the ball away a little too easily - just like the first team!!

Robinson, Carruthers and Grealish all look dangerous for us.

Grealish has a lazy skillful style that reminds me a bit of Sid.

Some of the names will get the plaudits, but so far Villas no 4 looks a good defensive midfielder.

We lack a bit of pace at the back.

Slightly unfair, eastie. The ball was not easy.

I think the villa no 4 is a real barrier today. But doesn't look a first team prospect at this point to me

Grealish and Robinson are coming into it

Barton doesn't look to have the same threat on the right.
