Utterly hopeless. We knew we had to win this. Wigan and Soton put the pressure on us, and as per normal we just can't hack it. We bottled so many games with a side far better than this one in previous years. Benteke is a one many army.
The difference between us and Wigan is that when it really comes down to it, as they've proved in the last two seasons, and look like doing so this, is they pull off the results when it matters. They bridged a 6 point gap on us and now have a game in hand on us. Fair play to them and Martinez.
Our best bet now is dragging Sunderland into it. Which sadly means winning an absolute must win against them in April.
I'm actually surprised we won both the Reading and R's matches. Villa logic dictated we should have ballsed up somewhere in those games and bottled it.
