Seems like everyone is huddled into the middle.I'm pretty sure it was the Blackburn game during 1962-63, when the winter was so bad that football was virtually postponed for a couple of months. We were skint and desperate for gate income so we put this match on even though the pitch was unplayable - the snow was rolled to make it just about possible. As a result the pitch was so damaged that we were the last club to play again once the weather improved, we had a backlog of fixtures and our worst run of defeats ever. The Mercer Minors never recovered.
Maybe not an iconic photo but the first time I ever cried at a football match upon realising we wouldn't win the league (I was 12).As an aside, how awesome does the Holte End look!
Thats quite impressive knowledge tbh dave. Are you the official club historian/archivist now?
