I bet it looked brilliant from where Redknapp was standing!

Lovely bit of play from Bennett for Andi's goal. Stuck another cross on his head too. Worth hanging on to, certainly ain't no full-back, but I reckon he can play a bit. Seem to recall spuds having somebody like two or three years back, dunno what became of him.....

To be fair, it wasn't Friend who was in charge of deciding how many mins are added on. I think it is the 4th official isn't it? But adding an additional 30-40 seconds on top of the 5 minutes just showed what a word removed he is. His awarding of advantages were quite amusing too. Giving us pointless advantages only so he wouldn't have to book their players. Yet always pulling play back when their advantages broke down and booking our players. No harm done in the end, so I'll let it go.

Actually it is the referee who decides, he communicates to the 4th official how many minutes to add on, all he does is stick the board up showing the allocated minutes.

According to Martin Tyler anyway, he says it all too often.

I think its harsh on Bennett to claim his misplaced pass caused the first goal. For a start it was on half way. Then Bannan or Westwood could have gone towards the ball. Bannan was closest but was too slow to react. Even then there was a lot to do for it to end up in the goal. After the shot Vlaar stopped running allowing Jenas to run past him and score. Bennett's pass shouldn't have ended up in the back of our net and the pass wasn't as bad as is being made out.

I didnt notice Bannans position at the match but on tele it showed (as Peter has said) he could have had reached the ball if his reactions had been quicker. I didnt blame Bennet at the time and I dont now. He had only just come on.

I do blame him ,however, for wearing poncey gloves. Must be a fashion statement . I wasnt wearing any and didnt think it was particually cold. What is it with players these days. I dont think he had them on for the second half though.

We all know how the atmosphere *can* be at Villa Park when things aren't going well. But when it really, really matters Villa supporters always step up.

I am very proud of everyone who made it there today. Some posters on here travelled long distances and made real sacrifices, and I believe the crowd made the difference.

Those were our three points.

I love this post so much that I am going too divorce the wife and marry it.

Bennett continuing his run drew two defenders to anticipate the return ball and gave Andi just enough room to turn and shoot

First it was a lazy/not concentrating pass, then Bannan hesitated, maybe he thought it was meant for Westwood, who also hesitated, and Jenas burst through the gap. So all are culpable but it was still Bennett's poor pass which has to take most of the blame for me.

That said it showed up the problem with having Bannan and Westwood on their own in the middle of the park (I know Sylla was on the pitch at the time).
