Had a bad start to the day, having to turn round an hour into the journey after my son starting being I'll. Just had time to drive back home and then start the journey again. I almost didn't bother, so glad I did. Met Percy for a quick chat and then into the ground just before kick off. What a game and what a result. All 3 forwards scored, when was the last time that happened? Just got home in time to watch it again on MOTD. On days like yesterday,  I just love football. It makes all the crap days worth while. My son is also very pleased with his new Villa shirt!

Glad you made it , it really was a great game with lots of excitement and we held on at the end - when hill hit that last second shot i had visions of it going into the top corner and such a relief to see it fly wide and hear the whistle.

It's been an awful season in many ways but lets hope we have turned the corner now - Liverpool are beatable as are stoke in the next 2 games and we can go into them with confidence.

For a young team confidence is a massive thing, it would be nice to keep a couple of clean sheets along the way but its pleasing we are now looking very good going forward.

Great result we were lucky in the 1st half not to be 3 down and the reff was a feckin joke

Brad Guzan is employed by Aston Villa Football Club to save shots/headers directed at our goal you know!

I don't get the "lucky" thing, either. "Luck" is a savable shot deflecting off a defender's heel into the net, the referee not spotting a backpass, or not noticing you move a free kick eight yards in from outside the edge of the box. None of these things happened in our favour. Poor finishing, top-drawer goalkeeping, both nothing to do with luck. As the final score of a match so often proves, on the day, we were just better than them where it mattered.

Great result for us, always good to stick one up Redknapps pipehole but I wanted to say how great the crowd were yesterday. It reminded me a bit of that Chelsea 2-0 game under O'Neill when there was a sea change in the crowd and you felt we were all right behind the team around the ground.  Made last nights curry all the sweeter.

I'm glad we got the three points bit of a gap between us and the bottom three can enjoy my weekend now.

Good luck Eastie.

I'm so hungover I want to die. All it takes is beating QPR for me to be jumping around singing Benteke songs on Broad Street at 4am.

My 9 year old son asked midway through the second half why every single corner of ours was played to the back post where Samba was able to clear? Apart from the fact we were bloody awful in the first half that was my only grumble about yesterday, oh and the fact I had to clean up after Billy was sick in the car.
I assume after being sick he was ok?
Tell him about Bannan having super strong leg muscles that cause corners to go that far however they are getting better because yesterday only one of his corners flew over everyone for a throwing!
