We all know how the atmosphere *can* be at Villa Park when things aren't going well. But when it really, really matters Villa supporters always step up.

I am very proud of everyone who made it there today. Some posters on here travelled long distances and made real sacrifices, and I believe the crowd made the difference.

Those were our three points.
Yes this was good and very impressed with nearly 39k there.

Redknapp is a complete knob, 6 points adrift when he got the job and now 7, despite plunging them into even more debt. He is full of shite. I really want them to go down and who is going to pay Sambas £100k a week wage lol

I'd just fuckin love them to go down. His post match comments just stank of sour grapes. Can't wait to see him squirm when they're relegated. Don't you know he'll blame everyone for their demise but himself.

He really is a twat.

Not long home, post match activities included visiting a few relatives [one of whom was watching whatever Ant & Dec's Saturday night programme is - one of the questions was who won the game between Villa & QPR - the contestant knew the correct answer]. As someone who couldn't explain the offside rule if my life depended on it, even I could see how awful the ref was today - truly shocking. Guzan looks like he really cares.

As an aside, in the car on the way home, when it became apparent, ie, after 5 seconds of listening, that the rugby result was going to be crap for England, we tuned into Talk Sport for the first time in probably over 10 years. Have to say, Stan Collymore sounded a much better presenter than Robbie Savage.

Just hope I'm still awake for MOTD.

I'd forgotten how bad Beelzebub is as a commentator. First he said that Weimann was thro' on goal then changed his mind and said it was Westwood. The main commentator then had to correct him and state that it was Lowton.

For the rest of this season in midfield I would be very happy to go with Sylla/ Westwood/Delph. With Bannan on the bench.

I didn't really notice Messi today, so he must have had a good game by his standards. Still, I'd bring Delph straight back in.

Haven't read through the thread as just got back but it was a real game of 2 halves, could easily have been 4 down but goal on half time and Zamora going off changed the game. 2nd half we were excellent and for the first time this season I'm convinced we are staying up.

Excellent atmosphere and I bloody loved watching my son celebrating the goals and at the final whistle, he's one very happy boy tonight! Good work Villa!

Was Zamora injured ?

If not, that was a very poor decision by 'Arry

Great turn out and watching it on tv over here was electric. Fantastic atmosphere. Keep it up for the Bindippers game. Salute to all at VP today. UTV.

Just got back. Days like today make it all worthwhile. The atmosphere was superb and the result matched it.

When Candlefatface disses the Villa I hope somebody at VP is taking notes to read back to him when he comes groveling for a loan player or two to help him survive in the Championship.   I seem to recall another media bumboy who called Villa "a two bob team" but still begged the Fonz off us.

Zamora's body is falling apart, he needs an operation on his hip.

Remy barely got a kick in the second half.

Remy barely got a kick in the second half.

But he was a few inches shy of scoring when we took the lead the second time.

I likec this comment on the Beeb match report

Foreign Pundit: Senor Redknapp, you spend much money, but you are still bottom of table. Why?
Redknapp: Yeh, luvly jubbly, mate...eh, wait a minute, you're supposed to say how great I am? Where's Lawro or Hanson?
Foreign Pundit: You only win a few games?
Redknapp: No, you're supposed to say I'm a great manager!
Foreign Pundit: Why?
Redknapp: I'm England material!
Foreign Pundit: Ha ha, funny joke!
