I thought Sylla was pretty poor actually, seemed a bit off the pace.
No I don't agree. Sylla was very effective and influential.

I reflected during the game that if we lost we would probably be relegated and if we won we would probably survive. I see no reason to change my mind.

What we really need though is to get results from matches where we should expect nothing, even Man U.

How long has it been since we beat a Redknapp side?

He was on a 14 games unbeaten run before todays game.

We do always get shit refs, today was an even shittier than shit ref.

Fair play to Bennett who put in a good show after that horrendous mistake for their first.  They all played their part really, no one was off the pace and all seemed up for it in the 2nd half.  Must have been some half time talk from Lambert.

If we had lost today we would have been in trouble but not " would be relegated". We don't need to get anything from games v likes of Manu although it would be nice. We just need to win 2 and draw 2 out of last 8 and we will be ok.

When he had the ball, he played it simple although sometimes it was to the detriment of good attacking intent. But he was also caught out abit and seemed lost positionally (but that related to a lot of the team in the first half.)

I think Sylla has, and I'm genuinely surprised, really, made a pretty good impact into our midfield - two games he's played, and we have been much better in possession
You could argue that is more to do with Bannan's return to the the line up.

That's a fair point, too. So perhaps he should keep his place ahead of Delph - it would be interesting to see how his passing stats are - I see Westwood clocked up a 97% accuracy in his today!

The OS have picked up on Westwood's highly impressive stats today.

97% pass completion - 75 passes made, 73 successful

That's pretty impressive for someone who was playing for Crewe not long ago.

The last time we won two back to back they were marquee wins away at Arsenal and at home v Liverpool however they were meaningless in any significant impact. These two games have been won under huge pressure and both after being a goal down. Big big difference.

Great to hear PL saying how brilliant the fans were today, sounds as if the atmosphere was electric and for all their faults, this team does seem to be showing true grit now.

I am convinced it is largely about confidence with this team - especially at home.

It is very brittle, and is the thin line between results and performances like that at Anfield, and many of the poor ones we've seen this season.

They took a massive bashing with Chelsea, Spurs and Wigan, that was a horrible run of results, and the confidence was on the floor. It seems to be much improved of late, though, and today will have helped hugely.

Yes, given the context the results in the last two games - and the other 'must win' against Fat Sam - represent a real achievement.
