Stokes pitch is only a "Delap-throw" wide

If we concede early we're knacked.
VP's large pitch and the opposition's slightly more defensive approach don't suit our narrow style of play, which is why our home record is poor. As someone else said above, our set pieces are gash (floated corners, FFS!) and we give the ball away cheaply.
Draw.
Where has this perception come from that Villa Park is a large pitch. It is one of the saller in the League, and apparently only West Ham is narrower.

Are you sure? Stamford Bridge and Goodison can't be wider.

I was surprised. And if you go onto the internet football ground guide even "4th division" clubs, such as Wycombe, have bigger pitches.

I'm getting nervous about this one now, I beleive we can win just don't know if we will or not.

Is a draw a bad thing?

No, a draw isn't bad but will feel bad if we throw away a lead and then draw. It's a must not lose game though, we don't want QPR closing the gap. Having said that, a 2nd straight win would provide a massive release of pressure and something of a feel good factor going into a 2 week break.

I believe it was March 4th 2006. Villa 1 Pompey 0. Milan Baros, who for all the shit he subsequently got, scored a few important goals for us that season.

Yes he did. Was that season he knocked in a couple against Blues at home?

I liked him actually, thought he was good footballer. He came across as lazy but i think that was just the way he played his game.

No doubt baros was a class act but we only saw glimpses of what he could achieve - i liked him too.

Houllier obviously thought Baros was better than Carew.

We can talk about our defence, but then any team with Clint Hill at the back is going to have a problem.

Villa 3 - QPR 2

Think we'll go 2-0 up, they'll get back to 2-2 and the Beast will get the winner in the 93rd minute.

Bring on the valium.

@thegoalzone: Darren Bent still not available and Fabian Delph still suspended. PL impressed with Yacouba Sylla and is likely to start tomorrow

Interesting; I'm also surprised and am now back-peddling like crazy.
Still think we'll draw tomorrow, though!

Thanks for posting that website, MV.
