We've been playing like a midtable side since the 46th minute against Newcastle. Long may it continue.

Problem is we need better than a midtable team's form to be certain of survival. We could well need to win half our games, and that's top end of the league form.

I know you've been consistent with saying 5 wins are required but we draw a lot so 4 wins or even 3 with five draws could be enough.

Yep agreed, but that means positive results in 7 out of 10 games and I think we'll struggle with that.

Reading look more like a team, yet they're below us in the league and have conceded more goals in the past few games than us?

I can't even contemplate anything less than a villa win in this match.

We have to win, surely.

Despite the lack of points in the last two matches we've not done too badly- 2-1 against arsenal with a great Weimann finish and 1-0 against city as the result of a slip and then clinical city finishing isn't too shabby when you consider our position.

I think we're capable of seeing of reading and that we will.

Fuck I hope I'm right. I don't think I'd put money on it though.

They've also won 3 of their last 6 league games compared to our one in 11- we cannot carry passengers on the day - if everyone performs to their best we will win.

But why. All we have to do is be better than Wigan, Reading, and QPR, and 17th position form may be good enough for that.

Although realistically, I think we need at least 13 more points.

Yet are still below us and were brushed aside in their last two games, conceding six in the process.

I agree with your last two points though.

Reading have not got a physical attack. Their only forward with quick movement is Le Fondre who on his day is quite capable of scoring a couple.

I hope Benteke and Weimann are at their best we cannot afford a draw. We have to win, end of story.

And win we will!

Don't they play on opposite sides of the pitch, though?
