When do you draw the line? Mid table clash you can only have a 1000 fans?

If it was a mid table clash, we'd be getting most of the whole end probably, but it's not so we're not.

No it isn't cut and dried. Wigan only have to give us what they are required to, anything else is a bonus. They don't have to give us more just because we want them.

If a match was at VP that could well be an 'us or them' scenario would you prefer

A) We give the away side the minimum we are required to give us as much of an advantage as possible?
B) We give them as many as they want?
We would probably give the away club the same amount of tickets we would to any other club, not "chop and change" to our likening.

Well we would have to offer the usual as per allocation rules explained previously. However as you know that wasn't the point I was making.

Looking at the highlights Spurs end was rammed (5k) and looked very full in the Wigan ends.

So unless all SHA away fans went to Wigan today instead of Ipswich that indicates to me Wigan will muster 20k fans for their game with us.

Don't forget the Man City fans as well, they've been buying tickets for Wigan games to try and get cup final tickets. Supposedly.

I can see Man City fans buying tickets, as for small heath, they have had enough relegation days surely than to travel that way to see the end of Wigan?

They still manage to let Villa supporters buy corporate tickets. Whelan is being a twat as usual. There is room in the ground but he is charging extra for it.

I don't mind of they give us 3,000 tickets and they fill their ground. I wouldn't mind if we had a history of acting like Millwall or Leeds scum.

However, they won't fill their ground and we are, generally, well-behaved. Not giving us 5,000 tickets when they can't fill their own end seems petty.

There is, in any case, no evidence that having a baying mob supporting us will make any difference. If size of crowds was so vital, Wigan would be Northern League. If supporters' noise levels decided anything Arsenal and Barcelona would be relegation fodder every year.

So denying us tickets makes no difference except to annoy their fellow football fans and cost Wigan money. They're cutting their nose off to spite our face.

In short, give us the extra tickets you egg-chasing twats.

I think they are just worried people are goin to get hammered and go on the rampage if we get relegated, if were safe by then we'll get more tickets (sorry to point out the obvious)

I know of at least two Citeh fans who were boosting the third division clubs gate against Spurs.

The club are using their right to limit the numbers, so that the away end support is not as vociferous. The Police and safety spin is the official reason.  If safety was the real reason, don't you think that Wigan's H & S people would advise limiting numbers for the visit of Liverpool and the Manchester clubs?

Also, as DC5 pointed out, any Villa fan can phone up Wigan and buy tickets in the corporates. £110 will buy you a lunch and a match ticket for the away end.

One thing is for sure, whether there are 3,000 or 5,000 Villa fans there, they will make a noise like there are 20,000 of them.

My opinion as well. The noise from Villa will be incredible, no matter how many tickets they give us.
Wigan are not known for their vocal support, we are, so fuck Whelan and his silly mind games.

Don't worry - the day after we've won at Norwich there'll be a big box of tickets from Wigan waiting at the Villa ticket office because we'll be safe.

If any Villa fans get in that stand to our left, I hope they manage to ensure that drum never sounds again.
