Our match against Bradford was quite important. Should we have restricted ticket sales to away fans?

We did.

We gave them the Upper and Lower North didn't we?

They had the usual away section, plus Upper North

So we did give them above and beyond the usual allocation then? Thought so.

They had the usual 15% cup allocation.

No, they had the allocation they were entitled to under the rules appertaining to the League Cup.  These are different to the rules appertaining to the PL.

We'll need to get a draw minimum here.

Looking at their home form, it's nothing to write home about.

They've lost to Fulham, Sunderland and West Brom and only got a point each against Stoke, Southampton and QPR.

Amazing how Peterborough United and the police there can cope with 5,000 Sheffield Wednesday fans this evening - a game that could have seen either side relegated at the time the tickets went on sale.
Do we have any worse a reputation than Wednesday?
Maybe the police there are just more confident of doing the job they're paid for.

It's Wigan and not the police who have limited our tickets.

It was a decision take by Wigan's Safety Officer following consultation with West Midlands and Greater Manchester police.
So it's a security concern rather than Wigan wanting to sell the tickets to their own fans.

Don't know how desperate some may be to attend the Wigan game but I've been told of someone buying tickets for the Wigan v Swansea game, obtaining a booking history and then been allowed to buy tickets for the Wigan v Villa game. I'm even told the tickets can be posted to a home address in the Midlands! The tickets are in their end, of course. This is something I've been told by a fellow Villa fan so don't shoot the messenger.
This is true. I have done this and had them delivered to my house, although I do live in the north west

The police take several factors into account when saying how many of them are needed, including the number of away supporters. There's been problems about how much they've charged Wigan in the past so that may have played a part in the club's decision. Isn't it great when a supplier tells a customer how much they have to buy before they can trade?

When our own fanzine editor believes we shouldn't get anymore tickets you know the games up.

If there's a stupider post before the end of the season, i'll be very surprised.

Are the police going to be stopping coaches and checking that all people have tickets ?

Why? Back it up. The silence from people at Villa is deafening. If this was any other club every director, CE, local papers and influential supporters (which Dave is) would be raging at the injustice. We've just rolled over and died. The only real grief in a couple of years was Blackburn away.. Well that pub sold beer to under 18s for 3/4 hours and then cry when the toilets get smashed up. All in all a fuckin disgrace.
