I am flying on holiday the day after the season ends and will not enjoy it if we are relegated.
I still think 5 points are needed and believe we will win at Norwich and draw our 2 home games thereby leaving wigan 4 points adrift before the final game.
I can see them beating swansea and drawing at Albion but losing to spurs and arsenal, making the final day a party time for us.

Sunderland at home will decide it for me. If we don't turn up for that, we are fucked.

I'm not sure I'd go that far jon, i think we are better away and would still fancy us to beat Norwich - defeat to sunderland would though probably mean we need something at wigan and with all the pressure on that last day I'm not too confident our players could handle it as well as wigan.

The football gods will dictate that it will be a winner takes all shoot out. That being the case we will take thousands and thousands, so I expect the police would prefer we take 5500 and have us all in one place rather than 3000 with fans locked out, or in home end.
Either way if i cant get a ticket I am going in the home end, as will everyone else I know. Train booked already.

I don't see why the Met can cope with the Manchester derby or when they play Liverpool, but are suddenly afraid of having 5400 Villa fans turning up.

It’s not as if we have a particularly bad reputation and I cannot see Bladen submitting a report to them saying anything other than "they stand up and are boisterous".

If it is winner take all, I shall travel up from Chichester and try and do the same, I wonder at what stage you would have to buy a ticket in the home end to guarantee getting one

I presume we'll sell the 3,000 and take it from there.

As for Bladen, he's a nice chap.

I think the last game largely depends on WBA and Swansea.  If they are 'at it' then I think we'll be safe by the time we get there.  If not, and they're on the beach already, then I think it'll be a case of winner survives.

Quick question

what's the train station in Wigan called? trying to book our tickets online and there's a few options for Wigan  - Wallgate and Northwestern?

80 bastard quid for a return ticket...

Bloody hell, that's steep.

Best thing to do is go onto a website called www.footballgroundguide.com and it should tell you on there.

A mate of mine got a return for everton  game at wigan and paid £18 on an advance deal - think he had to change at Manchester Piccadilly.

Northwestern is the mainline station, but it doesn't make that much difference, they are only a couple of hundred yards apart and a good 20-25 mins walk from the ground.

The stations are only yards apart, so it doesn't really matter which one you end up at.

Wigan North Western is where you'll come into, and it's over the road from Wallgate which is for more local travel.  You then just follow the canal to the ground which is about a mile away.  Or jump in a taxi which is only a couple of quid or so.  The Anvil is the best pub in the town centre, although there are dozens of bars on King Street, but don't know how keen they are on football fans.

I am off to Shanghai on 24th May - it wont come quick enough after the end of the season though I fear.
