As promising as Lowton and Westy have been at times, they've faded a lot in recent weeks, particularly Lowton. The whole defence is just struggling because they're all out of their depth.

For too many of our younger, less experienced players, this is too much too soon. Many just aren't good enough anyway.

Lowton
Bennett
Clark
Baker
Westwood
Delph

None of them are premier league standard players.

Delph has comfortably been our best player tonight.

Our new signings are obviously shiter than this. So what was the point is making signings if not to use them and try and change our fortunes?

They're all capable of playing a decent game. Just not the same one.

That will be as many times in Grimsby as in Cambridge.  Probably trying to distance herself from her mother-in-laws bowels.

Indeed. I think it's about as poor an example of how to manage and nurture promising talent as you'll see.

Delph has comfortably been our best player tonight.

So, he doesn't score. Doesn't create. Doesn't protect.

What is his role? Another nothing midfielder like Westwood. They add nothing to a game. Don't drive us forward or protect the defense. We may have the worst centre mid partnership in the top flight.
