Face it the titles over and City are coasting home for second, we're playing well without getting any luck and its about time we gave someone a right going over at home. I'm going all in Villa victory by 2 goals or more*

* unless its being reffed by the fat controller.

Lose or draw after letting in a goal with minutes to go.

Villa 1-3 Man City

No way our inexperienced defence and centre midfield will be able to stop Silva, Aguero, Tevez and co.

0-2 City

I'm afraid they'll have too much quality for us, regardless of being in or out of the title race. TBH I want this game out of the way and then concentrate on 2 games that really are cup finals. A defeat against City will quickly be forgotten if we take 4 or 6 points from the Reading and QPR games.

It would'nt surprise me if a lot of fans are thinking like this. The Reading and QPR games are massive, whatever we pick up against Man City.

Paul Lambert on season-finale.

Paul Lambert heads into the season finale in confident mood, insisting: "It's going to be one hell of a ride."

Lambert expects plenty of twists and turns before the end of the campaign, with Villa searching safety.

Lambert has been very happy with performances over the past few weeks and admits Villa would be sitting pretty in mid-table if they had finished games at Everton and West Brom better.

But he's confident results will come if they can keep up their dynamic displays.

He said: "There are 33 points available and that's a hell of a lot of points to play for.

"I've said before it's going to be one hell of a ride to the end of the season that's for sure.

"It's never a dull moment. It never ever is!

"There always seems to be one or two twists. Other teams can get caught up. There are things that will happen.

"It's frustrating for us because of the points we've dropped. We've been in strong positions when we should have seen games through.

"If we had done that we would have been sitting in mid-table. That's the reality of it.

"You are disappointed to be where you are but it's not as if I'm sitting here thinking 'I can't see what we are doing or where we are going.'

"If we keep playing the way we are playing, we will certainly more games than not.

"Sometimes you can hold your hand up when you've been beaten by better players and better teams.

"But there are games which I've been really frustrated and we should have had more points than what we've got. If we had done that, we wouldn't be in this position.

"Now, you either deal with it and meet it head on or you roll over and die with it. I always meet things head on. I do relish it.

"It's a great honour to be the manager of the club. It's a massive club with a great history.

"I've never been one to shy away from things."

Actually chum, some of the games I've seen we've been 'lucky' not to concede more than ten goals!

It was his fault that Swansea scored in the 94th minute? His fault that Felani lost his man? That Odenwinge did the same thing? That Andi didn't follow his man?

Players get managers the sack.

.........* unless its being reffed by the fat controller.
Mike Dean's named as the ref for our game. Phatty Dowd hasn't got a game, just 4th official according to the officials section of the PL site

That's a relief, Deano's ok. Dowd will turn up at Wigan last day of the season.

That's the job every manager signs up for though. What about far more often than not making the wrong substitution when we're either chasing a game or holding a lead? Or the persistent inability to get our defence sorted. Or not buying a decent centre half in jan?
First man in the firing line for blame this season has to be Lambert unfortunately. It's part of being a manager firstly, but more so he's been very poor, way over his head. For the most part it hasn't been for the want of trying with our players, particularly the young ones. It's only really been Ireland, and Bent at times who should have been working harder.
He's signed over half a potential new side, and most haven't been good enough for this league unfortunately.

As for tomorrow. I can only see a pasting from City. Their far superior. They're a bogey side, and given we've beaten them once already this season, I can't see us doing it again.

0-4
