Their pitch is the same size as all the others now following the Premier League rule change this year.  Which might be why their home form isn't what it used to be and Rory Delap gets nowhere near the team any more.

Villa's pitch is a good few yards narrower than Stoke's I think.

And Stoke's home form - lost only 2 this season - is the only reason they're not deep in the shit with us.

It's not.  It's 105m by 68m as prescribed by the Premier League, unless the ground is physically not big enough and the club have got explicit permission from the Premier League to have a smaller pitch.

And as for Stoke not being deep in the shit, they're only 4 points above us and are in absolute freefall having won 1 (Reading) of their last 13 league matches.

But then, the thing every team needs when they're on a bad run is a home game vs the Villa...
