I sit in K6 in the Holte. In K7 it was £100 less last season. If i'd have chosen to sit in K7 and my mate sat in K6 and thoughout the season there was an empty seat next to him, i would'nt have though twice about moving over.

But you can't walk round the ground. Just the tier of the stand you are in.

So that makes it ok then?

I was pointing out that despite your claim, no one can walk round the ground to any seat.

And yes, it is okay.

I reckon they'll go up by around 5%. The justification will be that if we're relegated we fans get an extra 4 home games, and they'll need the extra money to compensate for the reduced attendance numbers and significantly reduced TV revenue (not sure how much the parachute payments are but they're certainly less than the share we get of the current TV deal and microscopic in relation to the new deal). If we stay up the justification will be that they need the extra revenue to pay for all the wheelbarrows they'll need to transport the new TV deal money to the players and their agents

Anyone know when the club will write to existing ST holders to see if we wish to renew our seats for next season ?

Do you think we could call the club now ,asking them what they are prepared to offer for a renewal now ?

I don't get that question try again.

What I meant was that if I am correct those seats were £295? this season, compared to around £485 in the next block along and the same £485 in the seats directly opposite you in the Trinity and mine in C3.  So do you expect your seats to be the same 60% cost of those other comparable seats again next season or will the club end the special offer they had on your seats this season?

I sincerely hope not.

They'd be daft if they did.  They couldn't fill those seats, and the others in the ground they offered the same discount, before they reduced the price and as attendances are falling by the game they surely wouldn't want to potentially p**s off current season ticket holders.

But you could make that same argument for the empty seats in my block or any other block surely.  By definition any empty seat is one that "they couldn't fill".  If we are then going to be allowed to walk around the ground sitting in any empty seat we fancy having not paid the price for that seat then we would all like a piece of that action.  I shall point this out to those in the ticket office when the renewal detail comes out.
so just because you missed out you are going to have it out with the ticket office.Dont forget to take the toys out of the pram before you go.

Well do you think it is fair and the correct behaviour for a £295 P8 holder to sit in the centre of the Doug Ellis upper all season just because there are empty spaces and they can?  Just asking like because if they came and sat next to you and you had paid top dollar to sit there I think you would be entitled to feel a bit pissed off mate.  Grow up and be a bit adult about this, no toys required to be thrown by anybody, you sound a bit worried that your behaviour may be found out?  I am merely on here asking questions and wanting to clarify why there are empty seats in P8, that's all and now I know why!!

Don't worry sir your secret is safe with me.

Would you be happy if your visit to the Ticket Office results in all £295 season tickets being withdrawn, unless you get one?

I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity for all next season. I can only see ST numbers declining.

You don't have to go on 'pick a seat' on the OS with the crowds we have had this season.Just wait till you get in the ground.

There must be some seats in the ground that haven't been used in years.

I can see numbers improving but only if we go down, if they get the pricing right there are many of our old midlands rivals from the 80s in the championship so would tempt a lot of people looking for nostalgia and chances are we would win our share of home games. Atmosphere would be good as teams that haven't been to VP for a while will make it their big away day so makes for a good day out.

If we stay up take your pick, unless there is investment in personnel it will be very hard to tempt the missing 10k back, losing at home every other week to the likes of Wigan and Southampton is soul destroying regardless of the price. McCleish must have cost about 5k renewals last season another few thousand will disappear at the end of this season so they've got to gamble, come up with something people can't refuse regardless of what division we're in or end up with crowds of 20-25k next season.

Just out of interest why should the prices go up when our operating costs will go down considerably next year due to a much lower wage bill and our income will go up significantly next year due to the new TV deal.  I appreciate this assumes we stay in the PL.  Given this set of circumstances there is no commercial reason why the prices should go up.  Keep the season ticket prices as they are, if you have to increase prices then do it on the individual match day tickets, it won't matter anyway because they always do ticket deals for every game.

Because we're in a competition and every other competitor will put their prices up?

Don't get me wrong, football ticket prices do feel quite high, especially on-the-day prices, but at c.£500 for a whole season not only are the Villa's prices quite far down the list when you look at Premier League season ticket prices but that's also not that much when compared to the price of other top level sports (£60 for a day at the cricket; £200 to watch the Grand Prix, etc, etc).
