I've never rated Noble. He's a very limited player and also as thick as a Whale Omelette. Seriously, there are minerals with higher IQ.

agreed Noble is poor, but my West Ham supporting season ticket holding neighbours love him and reckon he would of got an England cap if he wasn't at West Ham.....and yes I'm being serious..

There's a fourth, for me. The guy's actually been fit for long enough to get a run of games under his belt. His opening half of the season was very patchy with injuries. Now he's settling in, getting a series of starts.

Don't underestimate the importance of playing regularly for many of these lads. We had to chop and change the team so often for months because of injuries, re-jigging the set-up every week. Getting close to a full squad now, and I think we're back to the formation Lambert wanted from the start of the season. There seems a consistency to the side now we haven't often been able to enjoy.

Couple of other things:

Bowery. Really sad to see some on here slating him, writing him off after, what? First PL start? He looked what he is - a rookie centre-forward playing wide right; a little out of sorts and uncomfortable on the ball, which didn't surprise me, but he worked hard, tracked back, gave support to his full-back and kept their full-back quiet. I guess PL wanted a certain shape to his team and felt, with Gabby out, Bowery was next best to provide it.

Dawkins. Didn't make a great impact but he looked promising; good feet, quick and took up good positions. Kept it simple. Even if he's only here until May he may contribute from the bench.

Bloody typical!! We finally win a game and my MOTD2 series link fails

Is that 'cos they changed channels due to the Bafta back slap fest?

Noble is no where near as bad as some people are making out. You don't play over 5 seasons in the Premier League if you're crap. I'd have him in our team at the moment and can think of plenty in the Premier League that are worse. If the general consensus amongst the West Ham fans is that he's useful, that tells you all you need to know imo.

Yeah, West Ham fans are fucking idiots. :)

I've seen him a few times recently, and thought he's stood out as a beacon of ineptitude.

According to the West Ham fans, Noble had his worst game in years yesterday. Whether that was down to his lack of ability or our midfield, I'll let you decide.

when I got back to the pub the clan of Wet Sham were gathering to do the autopsy on their defeat and the general concensus was that Allardyce is a twat, the Villa are shit, Noble was unlucky with the pen( I thought it was nailed on a pen), it was never a free kick, Carroll was beaten up by our centre-halves and why wasn't Matt Jarvis playing ?

I was then treated to the BBC stats that they provided on their I-Phones......I said only the top one showing the score was relevant....

He's a typical, jack of all trades master of none, British midfielder. He's Craig Gardner or Steve Sidwell and the best you can say about them is they are hard working.

Very harsh sir. Statistically he's the best tackler and ones of the best passers of a ball they've got this season. I know he takes penalties but he always chips in with a few goals a season and has a decent set piece delivery on him. I'm just glad he had a poor day yesterday but I think most West ham players generally do away from home. Put it this way, he obviously stood out like a sore thumb in the championship as he won their player of the year and made the PFA team of the year. He's an average premier league midfielder all day long, that does not make him the poor player some have been suggesting.
