Sorry.  That was simply a terrible game between two very very poor teams.  We will be lucky to play against a team as bad as WHU in what remains of the season.  We are going down.

Jesus wept.

Especially if it reads: "Big Sam is a deluded fat fannyclown".

As for Cackbeard and Co:
- Its not much more than a hundred miles to Villa Park from Estairm. Hardly an epic pilgrimage.
- Your team are shite and we even scored for you.
- You're a dildo wrangling cackbearded nonce.
- You might (should) be in the bottom 3 yourself soon.
- Your bitterness and pettiness is a joy. Long may it continue.

That is fucking brilliant.

Fat Sam's comments really are bizarre.  The first half was poor from both sides, but we edged it and should have been in the lead early on, I'm really surprised Weimann missed, he's normally clinical with chances like that.

2nd half both sides were better going forward but there were still very few chances until the Bent clearance off the line.  After that we were on top and were rewarded with a penalty and free kick.  It was only in the last 5 that they really got any dominance, and that was largely due to nerves on our part, Westwood was terribly unlucky with the OG.

As for Bowery, I think he did exactly what he was asked to do, which was to work hard and provide cover for Lowton.  He's not a right sided midfielder, we can all see that, but he did the donkey work we needed from him and set up a platform for us to get the win.

Bowery just isn't good enough for the Premier League no matter how much he's talked up on here. I actually felt sorry for him yesterday he was that out of his depth.

Good read from a West Ham Perspective...

http://www.westhamonline.net/article.php?6654035%7C%7C5%7C%7C

Fat Sam made me question what I had seen with his convincing comments! lol

i see the West Ham supporter there gave Nolan 3 and Carroll 4 out of 10, saying that Nolan was largly anonymous, and these were the two players that on the pre match thread were going to 'rip us apart'

its amazing how every one else has great players and ours are always rubbish, for instance the worst bit of defending i have seen this season was the 12 million man Samba yesterday, when the attacker went passed him like he was a statue,
then there were calls to change Clark/Baker with Upson or Dann in the transfer window, as if because they have more experience they wont make any mistakes, it just doesnt work like that,

look at QPR now, spent up, in the shit and going down with massive overheads,
yes but at least they gave it a go in the window i hear people cry, i would rather take good players like Clark, Baker, and make them better on the training field, i think thats where our future lies, i dont for one minuit think they will go for long without making some mistakes, but so will the others who we might have signed in a panic,
if we spend we need real quality, not short term shit

if we cant buy quality we stick wth what we have and go again ( i think someone else said that)

he wasnt great, but he wasnt as bad as people are making out,
this stuff about not being good enough for the prem league, i've heard it said about most of our palyers this year, and its just not true in most cases
it wasnt more than a few weeks ago, Delph was 'not fit to wear the Villa shirt' i'm not saying you said that but you have been one of the more critical of the players,
Delph was a lot of peoples man of the match yesterday, along with Clark who also 'not good enough' according to some,

as with Bowery, he was yeaterday the 'scapegoat od the day'  at least he gave Bannan the day of

Another West Ham Article popped up on on news now and very similar tone, (Also work with a West Ham fan and he wants Di Canio in asap)

Bowery put a shift in for the team yesterday.

He may not develop into a Premiership player.

At the moment I have no issues with him being in the 18 especially if it means the arpehole Ireland not being.

As for the calls for Upson / Dann etc.. I think it was more to provide additional cover / experience / competition and not because they are World Beaters.

There was one guy across from me shouting 'Lambert, he's a fucking Championship player, come and sit here where we do and see what we see, why is he still on the pitch?'.

That said, I thought he was terrible the few times the action came down my corner. His touch was very heavy.

I don't think Bowery will be at Villa next season. I'd loan him out to a Championship club, see what he can do.

Watching the recording of the game earlier, it really was a desperately poor game between 2 distinctly average sides. We played much better against Everton.

Thought our goal led a charmed life in the second half. Bent arguably saved us from defeat with that clearance. Penalty was soft and Nzogbia won us the game with the free kick. Despite the win, there was nothing to suggest we will avoid the drop and only confirmation that Andy Carroll was probably the worst signing in the history of the game. West Ham won't be picking up many points between now and the end of the season I reckon and could well get drawn back into it.

Guzan looked less assured than usual, Lowton was good on the ball as usual but poor defending as per usual. He is really poor defending deep balls to the back post. Gets drawn towards the ball continuously. Baker certainly added extra height to our defence but too many crosses came in from that side. Clark was better but still is incredibly naive at times like that foul on Carroll. Vlaar was no better than usual and doesn't look fit.
Delph competed well but at this level you shouldn't get away with overrunning the ball 4 or 5 times like he did. Westwood has promise but his lack of presence is a problem in the current formation. Weimann went to pieces after missing the sitter and shirked a bit of his defensive responsibilities I thought. Benteke was useless really, got offside routinely and didn't seem as up for it as usual. Bowery started ok but yeah should have been hooked at the break really. Nzogbia was our only player with an ounce of quality. Made penalty, scored winner and flashed a great shot just wide.

Bent saved us from defeat but without a midfield worthy of the name is wasted playing for us. Other two suggested little in their cameos to suggest they will aid us over the next 12 games.

With the injuries and the dire run of form obviously a win was great. But I think we need to try Kea back in a 3 man midfield with Gabby and Charlie supporting Benteke.

What a relief that win was but boy do we make it hard for ourselves.

West Ham are shit or we made them look so, maybe it's a bit of both.  They could easily be dragged into the bottom over the coming weeks if we can pick up points in our next few games.

If there's a shitter midfielder in the Premiership than Mark Noble, I've yet to see him.

And that's going some given some of our performances this season.

Upson/Dann/Reo-Coker christ poor players in Championship teams...cover for who exactly. They are not good enough so no matter how we try and pretend otherwise there was/is no point getting kneejerk reaction bodies in.
