Never mind all this nonsense about results and performance and tactics. What about West Ham's charming owners? Did they turn up? What did they thing of the catering? Did anyone shake them warmly by the throat?

They arrived in a convoy of Rolls Royces. I kid you not.

Winning. Its nice isn't it?

Just ask Charlie Sheen.

In fact maybe Monsieur Sheen should give the team talks. "I'm bi-winning, winning here, winning there".

Here's my reputation on the line...
Based on the half hour I've seen today, Simon Dawkins will go down as the worst player to play for Villa in living memory.
Really. He was either nervous or shit.
Nervousness usually fades though.

Wow

Definitely won the most bizarre comment of the year.

Unlucky. Just pipped your Delph post.

His assessment of Brad Guzan is also a contender.

Dawkins reminded me of Tony Daley. (prays)

Bowery really wasn't that bad, was he? We also won with him in the team so regardless, Lambert got it right yesterday.

Dawkins didnt look too bad at all in my opinion- he got into decent positions and looks to have a bit of pace.

I said in the pre match thread I thought a team that some may consider safe may be dragged down into it.
That team could be West Ham, because they are truly shite.

They were, but playing devil's advocate, on the bbc site they had more possession, shots on goal, and shots on target. Lies, damm lies, and statistics certainly but we were far better against everton imo. I think we should just view this game as a stand alone and not read too much negative or positive into it personally. Saw someone describe this game and the two team's records beforehand as the "resistable force verses the moveable object" and that sums its up for me.

The stats from the Everton game don't paint a pretty picture at all though. 36% possession, 8 shots compared to their 22, 2 corners compared to their 15. Even on fouls we had 23 fouls to their 6. It all points to us being outclassed by a superior side who we did very well to take a point from. Yesterday was more of an even contest which went our way. That's the way football goes, we've had more than one occasion this season where it hasn't quite gone our way in a tight game. The reverse fixture of yesterdays game is a good example.

I thought that Bowery did well in the first half and that his tracking back was good.

However, at half time, I did hear people moaning about him.

 Big sam beware-

@DavidGoldWHU: Disappointed for the fans who traveled hundreds of miles on a miserable day to lose to a team in the bottom three. We should do better.

I'm disappointed for West Ham fans whose club is owned by a bearded lady standing permanently in front of a helicopter.

Has anyone tried not caring. It lasts about 40 seconds before I start thinking about the bloody Villa again. It is like a sad addiction that has very few highs, and a lot of lows!

I tried for the Newcastle match as I was too ill to go I decided to ignore the match and watch a film. I managed most of the first half but by HT the film was off, radio was on and I was a fixture in the match thread. I reckon it would be easier to kick a crack habit than the Villa.

I tried today when sitting down to watch the rugby with the second half going so badly. Within a few seconds, we had scored and I was back addicted. Rugby off, radio full on and ended up watching England beat Ireland about an hour later. Gloryhunter, what me?!!

Same here but I turned over once we'd gone ahead. then i looked at the final score with my hand over the creen and revealed W Ham 1 (88 OG) and thought we'd drawn again.
