Due to my illness  (and Villa's shitness) this was the first league win I've seen in well over a year. Not pretty, not stylish but it was great to be enjoying football again.

Can't understand all the criticism for Bowery. First full start for the team, played out wide. I thought he equipped himself well.

I said in the pre match thread I thought a team that some may consider safe may be dragged down into it.
That team could be West Ham, because they are truly shite.

They were, but playing devil's advocate, on the bbc site they had more possession, shots on goal, and shots on target. Lies, damm lies, and statistics certainly but we were far better against everton imo. I think we should just view this game as a stand alone and not read too much negative or positive into it personally. Saw someone describe this game and the two team's records beforehand as the "resistable force verses the moveable object" and that sums its up for me.

Apart from the Bent clearance i'm struggling to think of anything West Ham created before we scored our goals. After that we did our usual panic and they created a fair bit by lumping it into the box. Besides the 2 goals we also had the Weimann chance, the Zog shot and the Vlaar chance. Would have been a travesty if they'd got anything today. Just in my opinion of course.

Brilliant, brilliant result twisted into an unconvincing performance.

For every positive point, a negative sat not far away.
Delph showed sign of what he could be. On occasions.
N'Zogbia showing terrific ball control only to walk straight into trouble.

Having said that, there was one thing I feel confident and one dimensional on.

Here's my reputation on the line...
Based on the half hour I've seen today, Simon Dawkins will go down as the worst player to play for Villa in living memory.
Really. He was either nervous or shit.
Nervousness usually fades though.

Nah its mine as well but then you look at the stats and they had 13 shots to our 7. 7 shots on target to our 2 and 10 corners to our 4 according to the bbc.  Someone looking at that who didn't see the game would probably  come to a totally difference conclusion

Re their stats. Most of those probably came in stoppage time

Allerdyce is an ignorant, fergusson-sychophant tw@t isn't he. Reckons he could manage Barcelona, in the words of the great Jim Royal  .......MY ARSE

"That pipsqeak has got to go. And get me Nolan's agent on the blower, pronto."
