Not been home long, jacket potatoes in the oven [cheese sandwich idea just not hot enough]. Don't really care about the game now, other than chuffed we didn't throw it away, and it should be a confidence booster.

Sam Allardyce has made me laugh out loud a lot. The guy is a grade A c***. Shit manager. Shit football. And fat. What game was he watching:

""Apart from the Aston Villa fans, anyone who watched this afternoon knows we deserved something. The sad thing is, after not converting our chances, we have paid the price by conceding from a free-kick and a penalty.
"Apart from Jussi Jaaskelainen spilling an early shot which fell to Weimann, Aston Villa created and contributed nothing.
"We were waiting to see what Villa had to throw at us in the first half and we coped with that. Then our plan was to go at them in the second half and we created chance after chance.
"We completely dominated the second half and we've ended up losing 2-1. Even at the end their goalkeeper was the hero."
He really is a first class ****. He must have been watching a different game from the one at VP.

Wasn't Westwood ill in the week with the same bug Weimann has had,and kept Gabby out today? Probably did well to get through game. Baker played well considering not a natural LB. Also thought Delph and Nzogbia played well. A good result and hopefully we can build on it from now on. West Ham were awful though.

Agreed - Guzan was the difference between 3 points and 1 point at the end

But to be considered a "hero"? He hardly made save after save after save.

Nathan Baker was outstanding today, true commitment from the lad.

Not sure on that, he did well when he was in the box and the ball went in the box. However when he was on the left he was pretty horrible, giving away stupid fouls and letting far too many crosses come in.
I agree Paul. Baker was terrible in the second half. Nervous as hell and conceded stupid free kicks on the left. I would suggest a swap with Clark who I think is a better leftback and Baker a better centre half?

A couple, the one from Carlton from the left of the area when he hit it whilst falling and the one from the corner right before the final whistle. But most of his work was claiming the high balls. Jussi didn't have many saves though apart from Benteke's shot that lead to Weimann's miss.

If those two points are the difference between getting relegated and staying up then he's done fine by me.

I dont understand why Bowery was on the pitch....just dont understand Lamberts thinking.

Personally I thought him, Lowton and Charles linked up well on the right although maybe over elaborated. He also helped at set pieces and gave Lowton some cover. When West Ham broke from our corner in the first half, Bowery ran the player down.

I thought Bowery had a fine first half, tracked back well, linked up well, showed some nice touches but the game was starting to pass him by in the second half when he went off, he looks ok to me.
