Bowery has to come off for me for Dawkins. He can't be much worse and gives natural width not shoe horning a striker out wide.

Bowery has put a shift in but if Dawkins can deliver for the strikers, he should be on. My only doubt is he willing to track back. Our midfield, led by Delph have done very well so far.

Oh to have Gabby on the pitch. We're really missing him.

Have not seen so many empty seats for a league match since DOL. Barely above 30,000?

On talkshite Colly said 28,000
Feck, mind you I would be there as shit as we are if I could afford to go.

How is Delph still playing over Sylla? I've never seen Sylla play but I bet he knows how to tackle, pass, run and position yourself correctly.

Weimann should've scored, but it happens.

Benteke is getting more and more like Carew. Some games he's unplayable and then other games goes missing and plays like he can't be bothered.

You're having a laugh. Delph has been running the midfield.

Wouldn't say Delph is running the game, but he is our most effective midfielder today.

Decent. Should be ahead. 62% possession - our best of the season so far??

Proof positive that the Premier League is the best in the world, brilliant first half from two superb teams. Can't wait for the second half.

Thing is we need to win this game, and Bowery is putting a shift in but that's not enough. We need someone who can do something in the final third, I don't know if that's Dawkins but may as well give it a shot.

West Ham look really poor in my opinion and can't see how anythin gother than 3pts will do after how yesterdays games went for us.

C'mon VILLA!

i am renouncing my life-long atheism. The only explanation for Weimann's miss and the season in general is that the Gods are conspiring against us. I screamed at the telly for 5 minutes after the miss then cried for a bit! I can't stand the idea of that fat fuck Huge Sam walking out of VP with all 3 points but the portents are not good.

I agree that Delph is playing okay but my gripe about him - and the rest of our midfield as well frankly - is that what he does, while decent enough, is usually pretty ineffectual.

Well, Delph has had a reasonable first half and has played in the EPL for a while. Sylla is still finding his feet, I suppose, at this level.
