Why bring two players in and not play at least one them? Especially the CM we've supposedly we've been crying out for. Expect the likes of Fellaini to take the piss.

Simply the pace of the game. Ligue 2 to Goodison Park is an unbelievable step up in terms of pace. Sylla could come on later in the game when it's slowed down a bit, but he might get overwhelmed first half.

Pace of the game? We've got KEA and Westwood, hardly speed demons, and KEA hasn't shown himself to be up to the pace of the PL since he arrived. By the time Sylla comes on, it's very possible that the game will be out of reach. I'd sooner we started him so the game is close heading into the latter stages, than bring on when it might be meaningless.

Pace of the game isn't necessarily sprint speed, it's about how much time you have on the ball and how quickly you have to make decisions. Especially in deep midfield, that would be a huge shock to Sylla no matter how good he is, just because of where he's come from.

In any case, that's the thinking behind the decision. As I've previously stated, I'd have started all three.

I know exactly what pace of the game means. Mentally or physically, KEA has shown he isn't there yet. We don't have time to integrate. We have change things and be creative now. The time for steady development passed us by when we decided to roll over in January to put us in the position we are in. We need a catalyst to change the momentum and given the limited choices, choosing the same again in my opinion isn't it.

Firstly, sorry about the miscommunication, just you used the phrase 'speed demons', so I was just making sure I had used the right phrase. Anyhoo.

I agree entirely, I'm just trying to think what Lambert's reasoning could be. As often this season, it's not the easiest thing to try and work out!

Just gotta make sure gabby and weimann stay wide. Gabby has a tendency to switch off and wander inside, as he did towards the end against Newcastle. Weimann needs to keep baines pinned back. Stretch them across the pitch, make a bit of space for CNZ to conjure something up, chance of coming away with something. End up too narrow, we won't have enough of the ball for our front four to make an impact

On the Villa official FB page "Villa ledge Ken McNaught greeted by Everton ledge Duncan McKenzie."

Ledge? Feck off with that Soccer AM bollocks.

To be fair to them, you couldn't really expect them to start. One from the MLS and one from the French 2nd Division, as been said strange signings!

There's absolutely nothing to lose by playing them. The current lot have shown they a not up to it against inferior opposition. I'm not suggesting changing it up is the answer because we could still be beaten, but it would have different to same players trotting out. Even from a energy standpoint, we might have gotten an extra lift simply because they are new.

... but it could just as easily destroy them before they have really started their careers at Villa, although I understand the frustration of having new signings and not playing them!

That obviously raises the question of why buy them in the first place but I am afraid only Lambchop can answer that question!

Bennett. Fucking Bennett. Now I sympathize with the lad and think he's one for the future. But the plain fact is that currently, he cannot defend to save his fucking life. He epitomises everything you don't want in a relegation dogfight. Mark my words, they are going to target our left flank and tear us a new one.

Zulu or Charge of The Light Brigade.  Not sure how this one will pan out.

Anyone know if this is on my radio as I bought my baby a red radio.

It wont work. You will just pick up old radio signals bouncing between Merseyside and Birmingham of when we last won a league game.

Least we finally got a good referee! Haven't lost in the league with him officiating!

There's another record about to go then!
