Quote from: Toronto Villa on February 02, 2013, 02:13:36 PMWhy bring two players in and not play at least one them? Especially the CM we've supposedly we've been crying out for. Expect the likes of Fellaini to take the piss.Simply the pace of the game. Ligue 2 to Goodison Park is an unbelievable step up in terms of pace. Sylla could come on later in the game when it's slowed down a bit, but he might get overwhelmed first half.

We've got KEA and Westwood, hardly speed demons, and KEA hasn't shown himself to be up to the pace of the PL since he arrived. By the time Sylla comes on, it's very possible that the game will be out of reach. I'd sooner we started him so the game is close heading into the latter stages, than bring on when it might be meaningless.

Especially in deep midfield, that would be a huge shock to Sylla no matter how good he is, just because of where he's come from.In any case, that's the thinking behind the decision. As I've previously stated, I'd have started all three.

Four across the back is good but we should be absolutely packing the midfield in front of them.We seem to be surrendering the middle of the park before a ball is even kicked,.
